I have an MME and my wife just bought a Tesla Model 3. I'm only concerned with home charging.
If I look at the FordPass charging details it tells me all the information I need to determine Miles added per charge. It also tells me time started, time ended, energy added, and miles added.
If I look at the Tesla App, it doesn't contain the same information, it is summarized by month.

For those Tesla Model 3 owners, where does that detail information exist?
It doesn't appear in the app, does it appear in the car?

You’d probably have better luck posting or searching in a Tesla forum. BUT to my knowledge from previous research I’ve done, Tesla only offers charging stats as far as amount of kWh and cost.
To have additional data and analytics, I would recommend looking at Teslamate or Tessie.

It's in the app at the bottom. Charging stats.

Thank you. I did post it on the Tesla forum, but I'll try the other two. I find it hard to believe that Ford has more information on a charging session than Tesla. Tesla has been around much longer than Ford’s EVs.

Miles added is meaningless.

I just learned today a Tesla can't set a destination arrival SOC. I think we have to be careful saying Tesla is better at software across the board, no one else has anything close to public charging either. Competition is closing the gap.

Art, one thing to note is if you are logging into the Tesla app as her you will see more than if she adds you as an additional driver. I forget specifics but just a heads up.

Rick, here is why I think it is meaningful. If I have one setup and it gives me 20 miles of charge in one hour and I change to a different setup amd it gives me 37 miles of charge per hour. Which is the better setup?

If you got the 37 in 90 degree weather, and the 20 in minus 20, I have no clue. kWh...

Same reason you don't add 47 miles of gas...

Forget weather Rick.
It was not a factor. One day I got 20 miles/per charging hour and the next day installing a Grizzl-E in the same receptacle and got 37 miles/per charging hour.
You like using Kwh, but I like using miles added in one hour.

I suggest you keep track of both numbers and do the math. You'll discover that kWh is exact, and miles is an estimate. You'll also find out that miles does not correlate to your efficiency in driving the car. In other words, that 37 miles it says you added wasn't 37 miles on the GOM.

Whatever works for you.

Rick I enjoy your posts on this forum.
If you say 37 miles of charge per hour is inaccurate, that's believeable.
But that would mean 20 miles of charge per hour would also be inaccurate.
It's the comparison of the two that is meaningful.

I think all he is trying to say is that 10 KWH of electrons, is going to be 10 KWH of electrons every single time you charge, regardless of how fast or slow you pump them into the tank.

But those same 10 KWH might be 30 miles added on Monday, but 27 miles added on Wednesday. And might even be 33 miles added on Friday.

That's a ~20% swing in miles added, yet the quantity of fuel was identical every day.

Of course both values have their place. đź‘Ť
