@Ford Motor Company

A request, well actually I guess two requests.

With the pandemic still leaving many of us homebound, the current departure schedules just don't work for some. It would be a great option to be able to set a one-time, ad-hoc departure schedule in the app to condition the car. Today you have to set a schedule, wait for it to pass and go back and delete it. It also actually puts the car in charging mode when you plug it in for the departure, something that isn't always desirable. Some of us have multiple EV's and sharing the charger means just leaving the MachE plugged in all the time leads to an unhappy spouse/partner.

It would be great if there was a user voice option to funnel these requests to your engineers. This is something extremely common in software. I know there's the feedback option in Sync, but every time I've tried to use it, I've not been able to be specific enough about what I want to provide feedback on.

Thanks for listening.

It would also be nice if it worked with calendar app (google in my case) and preconditioned when I have an event scheduled that is driving distance. I'm a one car household so it could be automatic for me but multicar could get a push notification from Ford Pass asking if I will be taking the car.

All that said, 100% ad hoc depature scheduling first.

I would add to this... allow remote start to act as "preconditioning" when plugged in...that may be an easier win than on-demand departure timing.

The problem with that is preconditioning, depending on the outside temp, takes longer than the typical 5 minutes of remote start. My car is currently taking about a 1/2 hour to precondition with the colder weather we've had in the Seattle area.

I don't daily drive my MME and most of my trips are ad hoc as are my home charges. I want the start car feature to also be the precondition feature. Likewise, I want to be able to adjust my charge limit on the fly in the app without having to press the Charge to 100% and then babysit my car.

Yes on both please.

I have my charge limit set to 80% and it is scheduled to charge at night. My rates are the same regardless of time of day but I charge at night to be nice to the grid.

However there are days I have a reason to need to recharge during the day, maybe before a longer evening drive. I wish I could tell it to "Charge Now" and it would go to my preset limit, or as requested above also manually change the limit for that charge to something not 100%.

I use the precondition feature with scheduled departures for when my wife leaves in the morning but there are times later in the evening or weekend's where I'd live to precondition ad-hoc. I use the remote start for that but would it to also be the precondition feature.

If you are planning to drive it shortly after charging there is no reason to avoid going to 100%. The main idea is not to leave the battery at 100% for extended periods.

My problem is the small incremental charge when all i want to do is precondition and don’t need or won’t get to 100%. I don’t like to do partial charges between 25-80%, unless there’s a need. But with the drop in temperatures, finding I want to just pre-condition while plugged in.

I have never heard any recommendation against small incremental charges. I don't really like that the car takes it upon itself to do them outside of the scheduled times but it doesn't bother me too much.

Agreed. It’s a personal preference thing. I treat all my battery powered devices this way. Old habits…
