I got hit with SVS last Saturday and posted here on the forum later that day. The 6th reply in that thread was from @Ford Motor Company wanting to look into my error messages to see what happened. The fact that we’re now 10 pages deep in this thread with no reply from Ford speaks volumes and tells me that they’re slowly starting to grasp what a shitstorm they have on their hands. Or maybe they’re just off on the weekends. We’ll see if they jump in tomorrow. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Boy, once again I am away from the board for a few days and bam, I now 11 pages deep in this thread.

@DevSecOps I am really sorry to hear this happened on your trip, and that you did not make it all the way back home before total failure. The phrase, ”missed it by THAT much” comes to mind. If it were me, I might have considered using my AAA 100 mile extended towing range to tow it back home, but I am glad to hear you had family local who could come to the rescue.

I know you were planning on having this replaced on your own dime so that you could keep and dissect your HVBJB, but with the threads here now that have already done that for you, I am glad to hear you won‘t be out the money to do so.

As some of you here know, my HVBJB failed right after the new part was released and I am coming up on 6,000 miles on the new part with no problems (my original part failed just after 6,000 miles). I have not changed my driving habits at all, and because a lot of my driving is for fun in the back country roads there is a lot of WOT events coming out of tight turns and from stops in the middle of nowhere.

I agree with your assessment of the techs. Since this is their first one, I am sure they will be taking a little extra time to Mike sure everything is done right. Fortunately this repair is not that complicated with the right tools so I too would feel pretty confident in their ability to repair the car correctly.

It would be nice if Ford would "jump in" to answer but I wouldn't hold my breath. There are now two lawsuits filed against Ford about this issue and I doubt if they will comment on it any further right now. I hope I am wrong though and Ford does take the corrective action needed to alleviate all the controversy swirling around and to stand by their product. I used to be asked what I thought about my new electric car and I gushed about all the accolades it had gotten and how happy I was with it. Unless Ford does what will put this issue to rest and change the HVJB contactors I will no longer feel the same way about my MME and will express my reservations openly. To date, I have already had two people ask me about the battery contactor recall and I told them there had been a software "fix" knowing that the real issue hadn't been resolved. When word really gets around I'm afraid of what it will do for the resale value of the affected cars. I can only imagine what Consumer Reports now feels about their car issue giving the Mustang Mach E such high praise in light of this when the facts are laid out.

I have had the same issue regarding recommendation. At first I didn’t bring the software recall up, now I tell anyone who asks me about the car. Ford has admitted it is an inferior part that is sub standard and as of now has decided it would rather inconvenience people and give them a software update rather than fix something that will fail eventually Even with the software update.

lousy public relation for a premier product of theirs.

until this gets further headlines I fear they will slow walk the issue.

Trust me... Ford already knows about my issue. They knew the moment it happened. I don't need the social media account trying to help. I appreciate your concern however and understand the point you're making.

Todd, I do know you informed Ford about your issue as you should have. However, I feel Ford does need the pressure from the "social media" especially the Mustang Mach E owners that are members of this forum. The more pressure that is put on Ford to correct this serious problem, the better IMHO whether it comes from lawsuits or (once) loyal customers of their cars.

I agree, which is why I made the post. But I was referring to the Ford account here as the social media account. They really only gather your info and pass it along. I'm way beyond that.

Sorry, I misunderstood who your "social media" was and agree that the Ford reps on this board do exactly what you have posted. In this case, lets hope they pass it along to the right people who will take the necessary action.

I'm pretty sure I proved that... I'm not a GT but I'm also not a slow driver. I didn't DCFC for a couple days before mine HVBJB failed. All it took was a normal commute home on 880 and 101 in the HOV lane, so sustained 80mph load.
You'll have to excuse me for not being Californian enough to know -- are those roads hilly, flat, or midwest flat. Asking for a friend.

I don't like 1-pedal and in Unbridled it feels like 1-PD all the time. I'd hate that on the highway. Not gonna even try.

Hilly, up and down with 500ish foot elevation changes. 3-6% grades that don't last more than a mile or so.

I can understand this is new territory for Ford. I knew going in there may be issues, I’m ok with that. My left sided headlamp is not working. I’ve had 2 service visits, last was yesterday. Unfortunately, headlamp went out again last night, so another trip to dealer tomorrow. No big deal. What I can’t forgive is their response when problems arise:
1. Roadside less than helpful, sort yourself out.
2. No loaner
3. No rental
4. Having to call family to spend their money and time to help.
5. “Fix” is not a real fix
I have a planned trip on Tuesday. I should not have to worry about my brand new car being reliable. I had a Ford Flex for 13 year I never gave a thought about being stranded but now, with a brand new Ford, I worry daily. What kind of sense does that make?
I think 2 and 3 upsets me the most. At least provide alternative transportation.
I hope Ford does right by you OP. They also need to reimburse your family.

I get the point you're trying to make, but keep in mind that you have us. I would definitely drive down to help if needed.

Has nothing to do with lawsuits. Go through any social media forum, Twitter, FB, etc. Most companies can't address issues because they're prevented to by their legal departments. You're not even going to see an acknowledgement of the issues.
