Hello everyone,
I am the owner of a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach e Extended edition, received in August 2021.

From January 2022, I started to get error messages: “Front camera fault, Service required”.
I went to my dealer who did a simple update of the IPMA module, which didn't solve anything at all.
So I returned to my dealership in March, in July, in December, in total 9 or 10 times until today but each time I collected my car the breakdown was still present.

Today after yet another immobilization of my car, my dealer tells me that they have checked with the engineers and Ford France and it is necessary to change the camera, the video module IPMA and the wiring between the camera and the module and Ford France only contributes 40% of the bill, so I am left with €1,500 because the vehicle is no longer under warranty.

It's quite incredible that a problem which occurred under warranty, barely 6 months after delivery of the car, but which could never be repaired due to Ford's incompetence, is now asking me for €1,500 in costs.
In addition to this problem, I went to the dealer for approximatively 6 to 8 recall !!!

I am very disappointed with Ford, it was my first Ford car, but it will be my last.
Too bad the car is very nice but Ford ….
Good luck to everyone.

I recently had the IPMA replaced and the cables, but the camera has failed again. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty so it is still covered. The total bill so far for mine is $4k USD. I suspect they will have to finally replace the camera to fix it.

Yep, the camera and the coax cable have been one among many major issues that Ford has failed to rectify.
They have lost billions of dollars on these EV's and have no desire to spend any more than they have to.
Customer retention is not even a factor in their decision making.
They do not care if you never buy a Ford again, they already have your money.
So they are not going to ever do the right thing and fix these design flaws at no cost to the owners.
All I see on here are people that have major issues with the car and Ford not taking care of them
The best thing you can do is get rid of the car and go buy a Tesla
You will be glad that you did.

Not at all.
Actually they want to replace Camera + Cable + IPMA (whereas they already changed the camera).
I asked them to firstly change only the cable and eventually the camera and test if it works before to change the IPMA that is costly.
But they told me the IPMA is defective, and if they put a fresh cable + camera, the defective IPMA will destroy the cable + camera ....
I've never heard such a bullshit ... I don't see how an IPMA could destroy a camera and more a cable, a part provide a high voltage but ...

I think you’re right to get the coax cable changed first. I’d try another dealer, they’re talking bull!

I had the camera fault on my 2021 when I traded it in to Tesla. They did not care and they gave me an excellent trade in offer compared to Carmax

Pretty sure in the US if dealer had already notified/worked on the problem while the car was under warranty and failed to fix it, the problem is still covered under warranty.

Feel like the EU probably has even better customer protections…..sounds more like a dealership doesn’t want to do it for whatever reason.

Yes, but that mean, I have to start legal procedure that cost money and they know that most of people doesn't want to start costly legal procedures for just 1500€.
But anyway, I'll do it, just by principles.
