Hahahaha!!!! In your dreams! Ford has been promising to enable it for Job 1 cars in Q1 of next year since 2020 LOL! Farley now claimed on Twitter that anyone who wants it “immediately” can go to their Ford dealer to have the update installed. Good luck with that ????
For me it’s a want not a need, I’ll just wait. It’s presently no worse then the hood releases in my legacy cars.

As for going to the dealer for service, it's always scheduled a week out and I have to leave the MME for the day. It’s not worth the inconvenience.

Sorry - the Job 1 remote frunk release has become a running joke around here. It’s a promise Ford has been unable to keep more often than a politician ?

Is there a CSP for it or is the software update a billable service?
The BCM and the GFM that are in your list of available updates are the reason you don't have this functionality yet. If a tech were to update those on your car you would be able to open your frunk like the OP and other posters here.

Note: that does not fully enable remote frunk release functionality, nor has ford announced the release for Job 1 owners. It’s sort of a “happy coincidence” more than anything else.

Just for completeness, I did just try the 7/8 pillar code and of course, nothing happened. Oddly though, when I walked away from the car, it made a series of clicking noises, like the doors were locking and unlocking. Note that I did NOT have either a fob or my phone with me.
Hi there! If you are able to send over a private message with your VIN and dealership information, I can look into things for you.

Respectfully disagree.

All that is required to enable the functionality (from the standpoint of the car's systems) is the GFM followed by the BCM update (or vice-versa).

The fact that the Frunk soft button does not appear in the Access menu is a separate issue from whether or not the functionality exists.

There is no trickery or hacks involved in this. BCM/GFM will enable the door keypad and support the use of a suitable (in the US a Lightning) key fob.

The Frunk button not being visible in the Access menu is resolved by this routine in FDRS:

While I understand and sympathize that it has taken Ford way too long to effect this seemingly minor change, much less to deliver such a change via OTA, the functionality does exist even if it has not been bestowed by the OTA fairy.

If Ford created a CSP to make this change on your car would you go to the dealership to get it done?

"Service Unknown" - That is technical jargon they teach you to use in mechanic's school. It means "I'm not sure what I did to fix it, but it seems to be working now. There is no assigned book-rate time, so you can charge however much time you spent scratching your head and reading the manual.

Totally disagree. Ford has not officially announced, or released a remote frunk release for MY21 Job 1 vehicles to the best of my knowledge (other than the now-deleted late Friday night tweet from Farley). Just because there happen to be bits of code that can be downloaded and installed by enthusiasts with the right equipment, doesn’t mean that the functionality has been released by Ford.
To answer your final question: Yes. If Ford were to say that the functionality was available, but had to be enabled by a dealer, I’d head to the dealer. That’s a no-brainer.

Cripes, Jim, go to a dealer and get it done. I have no doubt that it can fully be arranged by CX and not cost anything.

Yes, you'll lose a little bit of your identity as a result, but I'm sure something else can come along... :)
