The second tool used to be FORScan (which can still be used to put the button on the screen). They developed a FDRS tool to make it easier (which was what was pictured in the screenshot). ??
Thanks. What is the name of the second tool? If I go to my service advisor and say “run the second tool”, he’ll stare at be blankly and continue to insist that my Mustang Mach E has a 5.0L V8 ????

The routine is literally called "Enable Center Display Screen Hood Release Soft Button". Here's a snip from @Mike G 's post earlier in this thread.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Frunk opens electronically: 2021 Job 1 First Edition Mach E 1681393792138

If you show this to your dealer, and they still don't know what you're talking about, it's time to find another dealer.

Because to roll the windows down from say, 300ft away (at work) I’d have to use PAAK to get FP to show me the windows buttons in my FP app. Or in 115 degrees I can walk almost to the car to do so.
No, you don’t have to use PAAK. You just need to have it setup.

Hmm. I thought it would get confused with having the phone and fob approaching at the same time. Thankfully I'm the only driver of this thing so I don't need to jump those second driver hurdles.

I'll give it a go. I've avoided it but I always carry the fob anyway. Heck I should figure out my number code on the door while I'm at it. lol Spent too much time under the car to realize all the buttons on the top of it.

Assign both the key and the phone to the same profile. There should be no confusion by the car. When I was carrying my key, I never could tell whether my key or my phone was letting me start the car unless I put my phone in a Bluetooth-disabled mode. ??

Thanks. Yes, I saw that. Now, where is the documentation telling the dealer to do that (and to update the two other modules)?
I’ve led the development of fairly complex systems. Just because a functionality is listed somewhere in diagnostics, doesn’t mean that the functionality has been made available to end users.

There is no documentation, which you already know. Your options are to ask your dealer to do it, or not.

Who is “Robert”?
Robert was the guy dumb enough to grab the handle at-sign “Ford” and got inundated with notifications and PMs intended for Ford Customer Service. I believe he left the forum very shortly after he joined. ?‍♂?

That is not the answer to my question. What system is that? Everyone keeps saying “second app” or FORSCAN something similar. If I just tell the dealer “run the second app”, they won’t know what I’m talking about. You have to put things in very unambiguous, simple language (or bring them a CSP, TSB, or SSM). You make it as easy as possible for them to do something that they otherwise wouldn’t want to do.

The guy that he tagged.

oh, I’m planning on asking, but when they say they don’t have anything about a “frunk existing in the Mustang Mach E” (service writers aren’t bright), I want to give him as much help as possible (if I were allowed back in the bay to actually talk to the tech with FDRS connected to my car, I wouldn’t be trying to get as many specifics as possible ?)

It‘s FDRS. They need to update the BCM and GFM, and then run the routine in that screenshot to add the button. That’s it.
