I used to think this was a good idea.

Now I think itā€™s a huge waste of money.

If a a directly plugged in charger at 110 gives you a couple miles per HOUR, what could you possibly gain wirelessly charging??

1/2 a mile per hour?

So instead of 200 miles per charge on the highway, I would get 203?

Hard pass.
Will be good if the tech gets any better, but seeing how the advancements in wireless charging have been so slow due to all the wasted energy, doesnā€™t look like it will be for a very very long time.

It's all about progress right. The first cellphones had a 240x240 px resolution and now we have 4k in the palm of our hands. Small changes like this, albeit seemingly a waste of money, is progress if the technology is adopted and given the opportunity to grow.

Yeah, tons of wasted electricity doesnā€™t seem like it will fly with the environmentalists.

Slow charging is why almost every hybrid and BEV doesnā€™t have solar panels. Not worth the weight and cost to add a mile a day in range.

Proximity between the Tx and Rx loops may be a problem. Wireles charging has a very short range. Can you imagine driving down the road with a charge receiver hanging down under your car so that it can be 1/4" or less from the road? Until they can develop the technology so that it doesn't cause massive RF issues at range, I don't think it will be practical. From what I know of the technology, it ain't happening for a really long time. šŸ„ŗšŸ©
