I am wondering if I should wait for my 2022 MME Premium that I ordered a few days ago and wait 28+ weeks or get a 2021 from a Dealer's inventory. 2021 Premium is $2000 cheaper than a 2022 especially for an extended range battery. Other than a slightly better battery (which a 2021 might get one in the future through a software update), are there any major things that one should go for a 2022 model when a cheaper 2021 model is available locally?

Did you find one available in a dealerā€™s inventory with no ADM? If so, Iā€˜d buy it now. If you have enough tax liability for two tax credits, sell the 2021 for a profit when your 2022 arrives.

I would get the 2021 if it is the color you want. Use the savings for tint and ppf. How many miles are currently on the ā€˜21? Keep us up to date?

Good idea. I didn't think of that. Thanks!

I saw a couple on Ford's website, but that probably isn't the correct/latest information? I'll have to call and ask around tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted.

Buy both, flip at least one for a profit, that is if you can get the '21 for no ADM.

Get the vin no. of your offer and look up the build date. If itā€™s fairly new or built within 3 months and no person has owned it with mileage under 200 miles, it may be good buy. if you plan on a federal rebates, etc. , that is why itā€™s important that no one else has owned it.

I got my 2021 when the guy who ordered it took a powder. Dark Matter Gray instead of the black I had on order, AWD instead of RWD, no ADM, and in my hands that day. The 22 changes are minor. A no brainer, so I'm enjoying my new MME!

From my area, I think dealers list every car that shows up, even reserved/customer ordered cars that hasn't been picked up yet.

I'm curious if you can buy one off the lot without any mark up since they are easy $$ for dealers to put a slight mark-up and not have to wait in line.

The 2021 and 2022 batteries are identical, and in fact the update has hit the first half 2021 cars already, so it's a non-issue.

You should keep in mind that buying a 2021, in 2022, normally would be a bad thing as far as depreciation and value, vs. buying a new model 2022.

That said, if you can find one at MSRP, you might buy it.
