When my car gets delivered to the dealer, I hope nobody is test driving it.

Does Ford have all the gov paper work done so they can deliver Mach e to the public? For $1000.00 del. charge I would expect better than trains. You would think Ford would pay more attention to cash flow.
Of course all the documentation is in order. A few -- as in very few -- have been sold to consumers.

Note that Ford recognizes revenue when it sells a vehicle to a dealer, a transaction that happens before the vehicle ships.

What do you mean? Are you expecting next day air for $1,000? 🤣 😂

I made sure to specifically tell them that. They told me that wouldn’t have happened anyways, but I didn’t want to risk it.
when mine ships I'm going to drop my salesperson a text and say "hey so it's on it's way don't do anything I MEAN IT"

And then there are the customers who read this forum, track their vehicles, and have to inform the dealers their new car is on the way because the dealers won't know. Because.

Macheforum is a good thing. ;)

And if nobody drives it, do they just leave it on the truck?

Yup. Never helpful and always rude:

Ford only makes available what they call "primary status" to end customers. Your car will be "in production" for a week or more. Then it will be inthe state of "built".

user the "tracking" tool above to get the best status anyone other than your dealer can give you.
Your dealer is mistaken or you misinterpreted. Your SCHEDULED build date was likely 12/21. The first step of building the car is to build the body in the body shop. next it will go to the trim line where they fill the body with all of the parts. after that it will be done, and then move on to waiting for shipping.
Yeah, I goofed - "built" is a substatus. It will have a primary status of "in production" until "shipped"

Thanks for all you do, Tim! And, of course, you are actually incredibly wise and intelligent (ordered the exact same Mach-E as I did is how I know and you also have a Mustang convertible)!! Couple of minor differences between you and me, though. I live in SoCal, you live in NJ. And, you are a software engineer, I am a hardware engineer (world's largest forklift and first BEV forklift 36,000 lb capacity, working in the Port of Stockton). Other than those minor differences, we could be twins!

Suburban of Sterling Heights. Even though Milne and Dorian are closer to me I like dealing with Suburban, I like the sales guy there, we've bought 3 vehicles through him. But I did I buy my first Ford through Milne, they were nice too.

Apparently my Mach-E is in that batch in Kansas City from the other thread. I see that it was picked up by the trucking company at about 10:30 this morning from KC (probably taken to another train but no further updates yet).
Nice! Glad to hear you may be close. Milne has been really good at communication, I've heard from sales manager several times with updates. My VIN has shown up on the JCT PALS website as going to KC, but all other info is pending. Good luck with yours, be nice to finally hear of peeps here actually taking delivery!
