Has anyone put a rear plate on the Mach E yet?

Hi All,

I have a question that I thought I would never ask in my life. What is the process for installing the rear plate on the Mach E? I see the, for lack of a better word, dimples where the holes go, but they are not plugs you remove and they are not predrilled. I even went to the dealership and they didn't know how to do it, either.

Anyone have any advice?

Use self-tapping license plate bolts and they screw right into those nubs.

I put some protective pads on the back of my plate to keep it from rattling or scratching the paint.

I think I found the screws in a plastic bag in the glove box.

My dealer had already installed a dealer license frame with my temp tag. When I got permanent tags I saw holes where the dealer frame had been. (dealer frame now in trash)

Nope, nothing was on the rear. Just the front.

Two things everybody should have in their garage: duct tape, and gorilla glue. Any of that will work.

I hear some people keep gorilla glue in their bathroom right next to the hair spray

My dealer had also already attached a fake plate and frame, but as others said - you just use normal self-tapping license plate screws right into those dimples.

I have a few "license plate kits" from Amazon and whatnot over the years which have those screws. I used a license plate frame and put some foam behind the bottom of the plate/frame to hopefully keep scratches to a minimum (the plate/frame is right on the black paint there).

I bought this to go around my plate. After I got home and was looking at everything I realized how the plate was just up against the car and wanted some kind of protection.

Not sure what you are supposed to do when the threads get stripped. Wish the tag holders had proper threaded holes and not just drilled. Seems like a cheap way to do it.

I couldnt agree more. Build a beautifull car and cheap out with how the plate attaches. Shit screws into the body that can strip the holes to way bigger holes. Chheeeesh. Junk
