Has anyone waiting on a build date receive any communication from Ford?

IF there was a true parts shortage. Plants would be shut down, They my be slow to get but they are still coming.
There are plant shutdowns, and there are also plants now operating at reduced capacity. There are certain models being produced but parked and held until the missing chip/components arrive and can be installed later on.

You have reliable information that those things are happening at the MME plant?

Directly or indirectly, the chip shortage has to be impacting the Mach-E plant in Mexico, on top of the COVID-related struggles.

Ordered 2.21, still no build date. My dealer doesn’t have any additional information. I have seen others on here with February orders with build dates and some without. I’ve only seen one March order with a build date so far but I haven’t reviewed the chart in a bit.

You certainly could be right.

The OP can correct me if I’m wrong but I think the original point of this thread was why doesn’t Ford tell us? Why are we the customers speculating?

Probably because they are still actively trying to shuffle things around and figure out how to best make it work across all their models? They’ve shut down plants, they’ve lowered production at others, they’ve just announced changes to keep some open rather than go through the typical summertime retooling, One of their battey suppliers is entangled in a legal mess. The Mach-E itself has experienced software bugs and quality control issues that need to be looked at. Honestly what kind of forecast do people expect here?

All speculation though with sound reasoning behind it.
Ford can’t find some interns to keep us informed?

Hey Ford, are you listening? Are there a bunch of MMEs completed but for a few chips? Will we get build dates when those chips are available?

All you have to do is reply, “Yup, that’s right.”. We’ll spread the word for you. Please!!

Has anyone received status emails from Ford who are currently waiting on a build date? If so, how long did it take for you receive an email with ANY information after your order date. I ordered on March 6 and I realize people have waited several months to receive build dates, I get that, but the lack of any type of acknowledgement makes me question the process. I'm trying to be patient but it's pretty irritating not to receive any information or post order acknowledgement at all.
I ordered in mid February, no update yet. There is no rush for me as I don't need a new car right away, getting it later may just give Ford more time to work out the software bugs. After the initial euphoria of test drives was over, I decided to just place a new order and wait. Since then I have seen two vehicles with the exact same specs for sale at dealers in my area, but did not feel the urge to splurge right away. :)

It doesn't seem like a forecast would be that hard. Even a long timeline that can be shortened up of circumstances improve. Anything would be better than just seeing 'order accepted by dealer' when I login.

A dealer that I would rather not do business with has a carbon copy of my ordered MME in transit. I'm debating what I should do when it shows up. If I had some idea when to expect my car it would make the decision much easier.

You are correct, more concerned about the lack of communication.

Nothing and I ordered in October.

That's crazy. Plenty of posts here of people who ordered in February and some in March that have scheduled production dates.

Notified by email on 2/18/21 that build week is 5/24/21.
My salesman, at the dealer, verified the build week and provided the VIN using his visibility tool.
No information has arrived since then.

I agree; how do you think that makes me feel??!! I received exactly one e-mail from Ford and that was the day after I ordered the car in October 2020.

My dealer has some kind of software he uses for Retail Order Information and he tells me the week of May 24th so I'm hopeful he's correct (he also got my VIN number). On Ford's Order status page there is no date listed only that's in "Processing."
