Does anyone know, or has hauled stuff that is a bit too long for the Mach-E rear cargo space? I have to take a fairly long trip and need to haul some furniture parts that will stick out a foot or two, maybe a 6" to 12" above the cargo bed (with the seats down). I was thinking I could just adjust the hatch down to touch the furniture and add a red flag to the furniture. But never have done this with the Mack-E, or with this type of hatch. Suggestions ?

Alternatively, I could buy a roof rack for the Mach-E. I guess it would attach the rack to the door frame, as I see no mounting locations on the roof for a rack. Anyone have a suggestion on a quality roof rack for Mach-E?

Thanks,
Joe

If this is a one time thing, I would recommend renting or borrowing a truck or van.

Never, never drive with the rear hatch open, you can suck in exhaust fumes, and die.

Wait, wut? This is an electric car with no fumes?

Nah, just bungee cord the hatch and avoid the expressway.

I did this exact same yesterday with three twin mattresses I was getting rid of - no power lift gate on my select though, so ratchet strap to hold the hatch closed.

Yup.

That's when I use the Lightning instead.
