Headlight Switch Issue

I know I have seen this in the forum, but it was buried in with other issues. My headlight switch keeps going dark which means that the car doesn't know what setting is selected and I'll get the dinging when I open the door. If I see that it has gone dark, turning the knob restores it and the problem is temporarily resolved. I think this issue may be related to the 12V battery fault I am also getting from time to time. I'm not sure if that's because my headlights are staying on too long, but I don't think I have noticed that as part of the issue. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix. Please let me know.

Yes, there are several reports of this issue. It’s a bug with no permanent fix yet.

Nothing to do with a 12v issue. Just one of the common bugs. Happens every few weeks.
