Welcome Discount Tire! I have been a customer for many years, the tires on my Mach-E came from Discount Tire. I did show them how to identify the places to jack the car up.

First and foremost, thank you for the warm welcome and kind words! There's nothing better than coming into work and reading comments like this.

I was a customer of Discount Tire before I started working here over 15 years ago. Discount Tire treated me right every time I went into one of the stores and they helped me in a pinch more than once.

Now that I work here, I can tell you that internally, this company is no different than the way it appears in our stores and we all work very hard to do what's right for our customers.

Thank again for the welcome as well as the support - we greatly appreciate it!

-Matt

The Wheel Visualizer on your site is missing the GT. Do you not yet offer wheels for the base GT or is it just missing from the visualizer? I think a lot of us with the base GT hate the standard tires and would love to see what alternatives would look like.

Thanks!
Thank you for pointing this out! The visualizer software is provided by a 3rd party company; I'll check with our web team to see if they have any idea when the GT will be added. I noticed we are awaiting detailed fitment information for this specific TRIM level, this could also be why it's not listed yet. Replying to your PM shortly.

Do your techs know how to properly lift a Mach-E? I think that’s an EV owners biggest worry.
I love Discount Tire. They always get 100% of my business. But I'm scared to death to bring it in to them to fix the slow leak I've developed as this car simply can't be lifted on the basic lifts they use. I see the earlier post that they use the pucks and a floor jack. As least sometimes. But that's a pay attention and make sure they don't screw it up thing. It's way to easy to not pay attention when they are busy and someone pulls it into the basic lift bay and before you can speak up it's too late and the battery rail is damaged...
Completely understood and in addition to safety, using the appropriate equipment for the job is a top priority. To that end, we do have best practices in place which outline lifting the vehicle using the proper lift points as well as proper lift blocks. If there is any concern when coming in for an appointment, please don't hesitate to relay that concern to the team member you're working with during check-in.

Nice to have another forum sponsor. I'm surprised you don't have locations in every state if you've got over 1000 of them in the US. Your website won't tell me which location is closest to me, but it does tell me that there isn't one within 250 miles.
I did the same search...don't think they are in the northeast ....kept pointing me to Wichita KS.

Wow, nothing in the northeast at all. @Discount Tire , any plans to expand up this way? We New Englanders like our tires at a discount too! ☺
We currently operate in 37 states - you can view the links below for a comprehensive list of locations. Growth is certainly at the forefront and we are doing our best to expand that way, responsibly.

For those unaware, we do offer ship to home through our sister company, Discount Tire Direct. Discount Tire Direct offers free ground shipping on all in-stock tires and wheels for the 48 contiguous states. Here's the link to the website:

Good to see all the positive reviews for Discount Tire. There is one a mile from my home. Shortly after I got my Mach-E, I got a flat tire thanks to a big screw in the tread. I tried Discount Tire for the repair but they told me it would be three days before they could fix my flat. It would be interesting to know if they would have provided priority service had I bought the tires from them or if I had bought their tire protection plan. It would be a shame to pay for tire protection and then be told the prepaid repair could not be done for three days. The Ford dealer from whom I bought my Mach-E fixed the flat for me in less than 30 minutes at a very reasonable price. Hope to give Discount Tire a chance some day if they become more accessible. My wife's car will be due for new tires soon. Sounds like an opportunity to find out.
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. My apologies the store was unable to get you taken care of same day. I'm not sure what the circumstances were when you made your visit, however in most instances we are able to provide same day service for flat repairs. This is complimentary regardless if you've done business with us in the past.

Great to see Discount Tire here! I've been doing business with them so long I can honestly say I had tires put on a vehicle in what I believe was their original Ann Arbor shop on Washtenaw (long since repurposed by, I think, a body shop at that location). That was, um, a few years ago...

Don, Doug, and Matt: will I be able to order winter tires for my MME next year such as Viking Contact-7s which I've heard good things about on this forum, or Michelin Ice-Xs which performed admirably on my ICE (no pun intended) 2014 Mustang, or are we pretty much locked in to what the website offers?

Fun fact: when a deer took out the ICE mustang, Discount Tire helped me pick out some wheels and get those Mustang winter tires repurposed onto the Lincoln, and they've made a huge improvement in winter drivability on that car as well.

Again, great to see Discount Tire on the forum!
Wow, the original Discount Tire store!!! That's awesome -thank you for your long support!!!

We can order many brands and models not listed on our website. When the time comes for the new winter rubber, shoot us a PM here on the forum, we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Yes, they do. I specifically asked the manager of my DT this question when my F-150 was being worked on. He said they'd pull the Mach-E into the bay without a lift, use pucks, and lift with floor jacks manually.

Of course at DT you can reinforce this when you check in, and then stand outside the bay when they work on the car and intervene if necessary.
Is it really necessary to use a floor jack as opposed to a lift even if they pay attention to the proper lift/jack points? This is the first I've heard about this requirement. I had assumed that as long as they stay within those marked arrows then a normal car lift can be used. Is this not correct? Are the lift points too narrow without any addional special equipment? I wonder how are the dealers doing this.

No, I don't think it's required. But, by using the non-lift bay, it forces the tire changers to follow procedure and use pucks in the proper place. Using the lifts at a place like DT might result in some kid putting the lift in the wrong place, hitting the lever, and boom!

Ford dealerships know how to lift it.

Post some pics...
These are a bit outdated - the guy at discount tire ordered me some shorter lug nuts to make it look nicer (his idea, which I really appreciated), which came in last week. And my wife made me some custom vinyl covers with the pony logo to cover the center caps. I’ll see if I can snap a newer photo once the snow melts.

Longtime customer of @Discount Tire. Can't say enough about them. Recently got new tires from them, working with this social media team. Had a problem during installation, and DT's response in dealing with that problem was first rate.

For those that don't know, if you buy a new vehicle, you can buy a Certificate for Repair, Refund, or Replacement from them despite the fact that the tires weren't bought from them. If the tire is damaged beyond repair, they'll replace it. I got certificates on my Mach-E tires, and as with all my new cars plan on going to DT for free rotations and balancing. https://www.discounttire.com/customer-service/certificates

Welcome to the forum @Discount Tire!
I've done the same with the last several cars and tires and I've had positive experiences with them too.

Our place in San Luis Obispo works on a lot of Teslas and has the pucks that they use with floor jacks.

I've been a DT tire customer since my first tire purchase after moving to Phoenix in 1979. I have 3 stories to share:

A few decades ago, on a road trip to Indiana, I was a few miles east of East St. Louis, IL when I picked up a car antenna in my tire. First exit on the spare led me to a small town with a tractor & tire dealer. He sold me a used tire, the only thing he had in my size, and remounted it on my wheel and charged me about $40. He assured me it would get me back home safely if I kept speeds reasonable. I stopped at the next DT shop on my way. They took the old tire and the recently purchased used tire, put a brand new tire (same as originally purchased), charging only about $15 to renew the replacement warranty for the new tire, and then DT sent me a check for the about $40 I paid the tractor dealer! Glad I kept that receipt.

A couple years ago, a car cut a corner in front of me causing me to turn sharply to avoid hitting him. I ran up a curb and busted the front passenger tire. That tire was about 6 months old, and I did not purchase the replacement warranty. I stopped buying them when the cost went from about 12% of the tire cost, to nearly 20% (if I recall correctly). I have so few tire problems that just paying for new tires is cheaper overall than paying up front for the warranty on all purchased tires (IMO). I put on the spare and drove to a DT that was a few blocks from where this happened. He didn't have the exact tire in stock, but here is what he did. 1) he remounted a different tire on my wheel, 2) he phoned my local DT shop (about 20 miles away on the other side of town) to have them order a permanent replacement like I had, and 3) he sold me their replacement warranty for all 4 tires to cover my 6 months old tires, including the replacement ordered, all for less than the price of the one tire I was replacing. The next week my local DT guy mounted the new tire, no charge.

Final DT story. I owned a BMW i3 that required a specific Bridgestone tire in two different widths (front and rear). Costco had smoking deals on all Bridgestone tires with a starting low price, $75 discount for purchasing 4, and $0.01 for instal and replacement warranties. I wrote down the Costco quote on the back of a Costco tire center business card and showed it to my DT shop ½ block away. They said no problem and (very slightly) beat the deal!

DT has always treated me well and taken good care of my cars. The few problems I have ever had with them were nits at worst, like getting home with loose air caps.

Little nervous right now, brought mine in and asked them to see me first before jacking and the guy instantly pulled it in without talking to me. Hoping he got the lift point right. Doesn’t inspire confidence that the special instruction to see me first was ignored.

EDIT:

Followup, they DID lift it right with a floorjack and puck. But they ignored the special instruction printed right on the invoice to see me first and just did it. So I'd say this is both a good and bad experience. Regardless I always choose Discount Tire for my needs. Thanks for the great service, hard to complain with a free patch on a car Ford choose not to equip with a jack or spare!

Thank you for sharing this with us here @ZuleMME.

Though I'm glad to hear the flat was repaired and the the vehicle was lifted corrected, my apologies that you were not consulted as requested prior to the vehicle being brought into the bay for service. If you don't mind, I'd like to share your feedback with the store directly - PM coming your way.

What do you recommend for the California Route 1 stock size? I don't see much available on the website that I recognize.
