I bought the Jowua magnetic mount and put it on the back of the center screen. It’s metal and folds away. So far it has held my 13 pro max with a case through the bumpy Colorado roads well.

I have yet to take delivery of my car, but interested in this idea. With Apple CarPlay on the main screen, what do you use the phone for?

Pretty much my thoughts. I lay the phone on the charging mat and never look at it while using CarPlay. Also . . . with CarPlay on, the screen just shows the CarPlay icon.

It hasn't over the last 3 days, but that is the only experience I have had with this.

It has about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of adjustable slide between the first element and the mount.

Can't you access that through the CarPlay screen? I'm the same as a few others, I put mine on the charging mat and don't have to touch it unless I'm breaking the law and responding to an email.

This is the one I've been using, similar concept except it rotates out rather than flips out. Works great with any Magsafe iPhones, and would probably work well with other phones that either have a similar magnet or a case with magnets in them.

I know having yet another screen isn't the safest choice, but what I like about this one is that when folded away it is completely gone, and I only fold it out to use it when I'm doing something like recording data using CarScanner.
