How can I unplug/disable the phone charging mat?

It wouldn't be "live" because the foil blocks the charging / signal so nothing is happening. The charger is in the same state as when there is no phone present.

You're probably right.
I was concerned with it because it might still interfere since the charger is constantly "looking" for a phone to charge and this foil might "react" to this and heat up?
I may be overly cautious about this!

Definitely easy to over think! This might help. Basically when the distance is too great (or blocked by something like an incompatible phone case or foil) it won't make it past step 2 and it will remain in this state. As far as the charging base is concerned there is no compatible device so nothing happens.

Yep, and a layer of foil would easily conform to the tub. I'll try it out!

To the OP... if you prefer....just pull out the fuse.

I don't think you can just pull the fuse. Other things use it.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max can't do wireless car play while on the charging pad without the battery draining. I had to create a workaround with a MagSafe charger into the USB port.

Figured out what the problem was. Now my Samsung Note20 charges really well on the wireless mat.
Turns out it's the rubber mat in the tray that was causing problems.
My phone is too long and would not sit flat because of the raised "dividers" in the mat.
I first tested the charger without any mat and my phone picked up 4% in like 5 minutes.
So I ordered an AOSK mat, they have one that says it's specifically made to fit the largest phones.
Voila, problem fixed, happy man!

I think you’re having the same problem as @Aramis76 . Phone too big for opening. I have a regular sized iPhone 13 Pro and it charges great in a magsafe-compatible case on the pad while using Wireless CarPlay.
