It tells you this right in the manual.

WARNING: The system does not
detect
vehicles moving in a different
direction or animals. Apply the brakes
when necessary. Failure to follow this
instruction could result in the loss of
control of your vehicle, personal injury or
death.

Pedestrian Detection Limitations
Pedestrian detection is active at speeds
up to 50 mph (80 km/h).
Pedestrian detection functions optimally
when detected hazards are clearly
identifiable. System performance may
reduce in situations where pedestrians are
running, partly obscured, have a complex
background, or cannot be distinguished
from a group.
Cyclist Detection Limitations
Cyclist detection is active at speeds up to
50 mph (80 km/h).
Cyclist detection functions optimally when
detected hazards are clearly identifiable.
System performance may reduce in
situations where cyclists are fast-moving,
partly obscured, have a complex
background, or cannot be distinguished
from a group.
Ah, thanks. Once again, I should just RTFM ???

From my experience, front end collision assist will activate just about any time you're pulling up to a stop behind a car and keep inching forward past about 10 feet behind the car without fully stopping

When it comes on for me, it is very accurate and reminds me I am not braking enough. I like it. Also like the auto bright lights feature at night. Works flawlessly for me. I am all about automatic stuff.

That's a little hard to do when I can't even trust that my doors lock when I walk away
Walk away lock definitely shouldn't be trusted. That's one of the many reasons I don't use it.

The pre-collision is great and it works. That being said--everything mechanical and/or electrical, everything, at some point will fail.

Forward collision prevention is very good at avoiding false positives. If you are inching towards something it won't come on. If it feels you are accelerating towards a stopped vehicle, then it will start beeping. It only intervenes at the last moment with brakes.

The only false positive I've had in 2 years is once in a parking lot it thought I was going into a parking spot too aggressively (it saw the car in front of my spot) and slammed on the brakes so hard I thought I did hit something. I didn't hit anything, and wasn't going to, but the car got freaked out.

Hasn't happened since so may have just been a fluke with that false positive
