I own a fully loaded GC Limited and a R1S. The only thing better about the GC is the real leather interior (they recently dropped that and it's leatherette). I test drove a hurricane Grand Wagoneer yesterday at the auto show for comparison and that was nice but anemic compared to the R1S.Besides battery technology, BEVs don't have any advantages over ICE vehicles. I don't even have ventilated seats on my MME. Or a heads up display. Or front cameras. Or hands free cruise (my GT doesn't have BC.) And I spent $62k. I could get more technology on a Ford Explorer for less money. Easy.
I am thinking about getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee L, and it has much more technology than the Rivian R1S, and yet it is cheaper by 10s of thousands. So if you are buying a BEV for anything other than battery technology, you are spending too much.
IMO the reason BEVs *may* lose more value than an equivalent ICE is due to the advances in battery technology. And due to the loss of range because of battery age.
A GC is an okay SUV. I prefer the Telluride at the same price. DO NOT pay sticker for a GC. Pay $10-15K under because Jeep overpriced it and competition is a better value. A $55K GC is worth the same as a sub-$45K Telluride and even then I tell folks just buy the Telluride or GH or Pilot. You have to pay for an Overland or Summit to get lane-centering in a GC.... so basically $65K+ trims.
Also GC depreciation is brutal. Worse than my Mach-E lol.
