My experience has been around 3 weeks from when the dealer submits the paperwork. Some dealers are slower to submit the papers, and I even had to prompt a dealer once to remind them when I was close to the expiration of my temporary tag.Wanted to see how long it took people to receive their plates in AZ. It's been 5 weeks since I purchased my Mach E and still no sign of them. I know someone a while back mentioned 3 weeks but don't know if that is the norm. Thanks.
You can check to see if the car has been registered to you on the MVD site.Alright so looks like it might be dealers dragging their feet with the paperwork. I know the mvd has at least processed the application since around may 6th so hopefully I'll receive them this coming week. Still have 1.5 weeks left on the temporary plates but was starting to get worried. Thanks for the replies
Since MVD processed on May 6, my guess is your plates are already en route. You'll probably get them within a few more days.Alright so looks like it might be dealers dragging their feet with the paperwork. In some states, the plates are sent to the dealer and you have to pick them up. Have you checked with them.Yep already did. That's what I meant by knowing they have processed it on or before May 6th. Their site shows the registration was issued on that's date.
Arizona is not one of those states. In some states, the plates are sent to the dealer and you have to pick them up. Have you checked with them.
Called the DMV and ordered a new set of plates. Went better then I thought it would; on hold only 45 minutes. Believe it or not the post office called me later that day and said that my plates aren't lost. She said First Class packages have been "delayed" because of covid. She said they're probably in a sealed container that will be delivered later. I was incredulous! Delayed?? More like incompetent procedures and service. They have been sitting somewhere since 5/7 and I still don't think I'll get them no matter what she told me. I do worry, however, because the replacement plates will be sent the same First Class with a tracking number. What if they end up in the same black hole??!! The whole sorry story is unbelievable and it is another reason the post office has been criticized when they want more money for a service that is inferior. My Illinois plates are lost in that black hole which we call the US Postal Service. They were mailed by the DMV on 4/27 from Springfield IL and tracking shows them at Chicago sorting center and they left there on 5/7. That's the last anybody has heard or seen anything about them. I have a postal inquiry taking place right now but I'm not holding my breath. I probably will have to call the DMV and I'm not looking forward to that!
AFV plates, right? And of course the first business day after positing this I get my plates. Thanks everyone for your responses!
