How many days is typical to be "in production"?

and the Ford tracker updated to reflect that my car shipped today 9/13, two days after it was reported as build-complete.

Hi all. Apologies if this has been discussed; i tried to search answer and got nowhere.

Ordered ME select 5/6. Not too much after, I got a production date of 8/30.

Of course that was last week, and still today it says in production. Just looking for an idea of wat is the average time the vehicle stays in production before the website changes to built? 1 week, 2 weeks etc. etc.?

PS this is not a complaint; I'm just looking to set my reasonable expectations, whatever they may be.

Out of curiosity, did you select the 360/BlueCruise option? I here that’s one of the options that’s causing delays.

That is a good question. Mine has been in production status for 2 weeks now and my bubble is still not checked. Build date was last week.

Reserved in Nov of 2019. Order placed in May of 2021. Listed as in production for mid-July. Got email stating would be delayed due to chip shortage for 6 weeks end of August. Got call from dealer a few days later that it was in. Went to pick it up. Didn't have any of the options I ordered on it (it was base GT, no glass roof, no co-pilot 360, no performance package).

Now I'm at the back of the queue again to get what I actually wanted.

Honestly that would be the final straw for me. If that happened to me, I’d be waiting on a different brand

So you had the dealer "add value" by ordering the car for you, and they ordered it incorrectly? And I guess you didn't notice this until the car showed up?

My GTPE stayed in that state for almost exactly a month

For me, it was 11 days.

Started showing "in production" a few days after the beginning of the scheduled build week. Now shows "built" and "awaiting shipment" 11 days later.

I finally received the email saying my car has been built! It was in production for over a month and I see production times have been trending down so looks like Ford was able to get their hands on a bunch of chips.

Was it the correct VIN? Sounds like a different order got mixed up. Run your original VIN and see what options it says it should have. And maybe complain to Ford directly.
