Depends on your definition of 'produce'.How many days does it take to produce a Mach E ?
So apparently no one knows, so I will take a SWAG. In order to sell 50,000 MMEs the first year as predicted, they are averaging 6,000 per month, which allows for downtime and other losses. 6,000 per month divided by average 22 working days per month is 272.7 per day. Assuming two shifts production, 272.7 divided by 16 hours is 17 cars per hour. What is the line rate at the plant? Cars per hour?
Not saying this is the case, but I've seen a fair share of people who were expecting a delivery by X date, actually get them at the dealer like 2 weeks early. The 35-40 days, I'm sure is just an estimate to cover their buttsMy GTPE was "in production" starting August 21st (which was a Saturday) and was "built" by Sept. 1st. From there it went to the Mexican parking lot to await chip assemblies. Reportedly shipped out via train on Sept. 15th. Hasn't reached the Kansas train hub yet. Ford is telling me to expect delivery to the dealer Oct. 20th-26th (I'm in Northern California), so Ford must be doing further chip assembly installs at the train hub. Trains are slow, but not 35-40 days slow.
