I skipped all of those iterations and went from a 2006 Prius to a 2021 Mustang Mach-E in one go. =D Well, there in the middle I also purchased a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid, which I also still have. I gifted my 2006 Prius to my 88 year young parents just before the Mach-E arrived, because we don't have room for, nor do we need, three cars. =D

2000 Subaru Forester, which abruptly gave up the ghost and led to a 2013 Prius. I was almost about to buy a used Leaf to putter around town, but was instructed by wife that I needed to have a real backseat for the car seats etc. Was almost going to do Rav4 Prime or Escape PHEV, but decided to jump off the deep end into the MME as a full BEV. No regrets yet!

My last 2 ICE vehicles were Subaru, a 2003 Forester then a 2010 Legacy Outback.
I got a 2018 Chevy Volt, I was not really happy with it, after 4 months I traded for a 2018 Honda Clarity - more room, more comfort, with Honda quality.
My wife's Hyundai Accent was getting old and we got a used 2016 LEAF (30kwh) which she is still driving - she was not very interested in it until she drove it, from that point she loves it. She ran the range down into single digits a couple of times, but it got her home (1 charge at chargepoint pubic charger)
I reserved a MME Premium on 1/1/20, converted to order, then sidestepped into the FE which is now about 3 weeks old to me. The PHEVs were always meant to be interim until better choices were available.

2006 Volvo V70 T5
2017 Chevy Bolt
2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E First Edition in Grabber Blue

These were the cars I purchased and drove since I got my driver's license in 1980. After 1986 - I always bought new cars. We bought my wife some different cars over the years, they included:
1985 Honda Accord Hatchback
1998 Honda Accord
2007 Volvo S40

The Chevy Bolt got us hooked on loving electric cars and never wanting to go back to ICE. Just too small for long distances and needing more luggage space. The MME is very close to the Volvo 2006 V70 T5 interior space and comfort.

The infotainment technology in the MME is good - not great. Still needs some improvement. I do still prefer having separate buttons for air/heat. I think that might be due to always having them separate. I need to get used to using the voice command system.

I have had to many cars to list but my son has my wife's old 2010 Prius with 146K on it. She has an 18 Prius with 40K on it. I'm ditching my 2019 Caddy for the Mach E.

I still have my Trans Am Firehawk. Can;t get rid of my baby.

No offense dudes, but the Prius, Leaf, and all those little dork-mobiles were a hard pass for me. I actually test drove a 2nd Gen Prius but opted for the way better looking 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid instead. And I drove that Fusion for nearly 12 years until the right EV came along - one that had enough room, enough range, looked great, and was at least somewhat affordable. And that, my friends, is the Mach E. A Grabber Blue Mach E.

Started long ago as a Ford enthusiast, first car was a 68 Mustang fastback Highland green! Plenty of Fords after that, mostly Falcons and Fairlanes with a few Torinos thrown in for fun. Best car from my past was my 70 Ranchero 429scj.
After getting married I resigned myself to "Dad cars" one Mazda 5 (when Ford was partnered with them) then my worst Ford ever, a Focus with the dreaded twin plate "auto clutch" finally traded in for my current Escape 2.0 Ecoboost that will get traded in when My Mach-E finally arrives. Its been 46 years since my First Mustang and I'm looking forward to the way of the future in my second Mustang! now all electric.

That first hybrid changed my view of cars forever paving the way for our EV dominated garage.

Went from ICE directly to straight battery power. No stop at hybrid or other electrics.

My gateway drug, er, car, was a Pacifica PHEV. Loved it so much I decided to go full EV.

And, the Federal tax credits were a nice incentive.

I made the switch from the ICE BMW to the Tesla primarily because there was nothing with a stick I liked/thought was reasonably priced. I've never owned an automatic transmission vehicle. Lucky for me, EV's don't have "transmissions" in the traditional sense, so my record can remain unbroken, even if it has an asterisk.
