I ordered a premium Mach e AWD, star white with black interior with the extended range battery. Every time I check with the dealership, they tell me that they do not know when the car will come. I have not recieved an email or a vin or anything else giving me any kind of indication when I might get my car. Anyone else out there waiting?

I ordered a prem, rwd, std range on March 20 and the dealer says my build week is June 21st. Although I don't see that on any of the Ford tracking sites.
That lines up with the timing and configuration of my order. Can you view your order on Ford.com?

I ordered 2 months earlier and my build week is 2 weeks earlier. Others have waited A LOT longer.

Timing is all over the place. Lots of theories around but nobody has really deciphered the algorithm.

A couple months ago, it wasn’t hard to find cancelled orders in many trims and colors. Even at MSRP or xplan pricing if you broadened your search enough. Maybe things have changed now. But that’s what I would try instead of waiting. You will absolutely be waiting 4-6mos and possibly even longer for an order.

We ordered on April 7 and received a build date of June 28. Sold my Wife’s car way too early! In the mean time we have been using the dealer’s demo MME like a rental.

I ordered a Mach-E Premium all wheel drive extended range on 1/6/21.
The dealer accepted the order the next day.
On 2/18/21 I received an email stating that my build week would be May 24, 2021.

I asked my salesman to look the car up in the visibility report to verify the build week.
He gave me a printout that verified the build week and included the VIN number.

Ask your dealer to look up your order in the Vehicle Visibility Report, which is available to him 24/7.

True Larry, timing is all over the place. We ordered even before you in October 2020 and as of today, no build week on the Ford Order web site. I canceled our order a month ago when I found an Infinite Blue for sale that met our specs at another dealer in Shorewood. I'm still watching the Ford Order site to see when the one we originally ordered will be produced. It was supposed to be Infinite Blue which is discontinued so it's a good thing we bought a car that was IB as that is what my wife wanted. The original dealer in Peotone (where I ordered in October) told me he thought the week of May 24th so we'll see if he knows something I don't. He'll have another Mach E in his inventory when it does finally come in.

PS - As far as an algorithm, the Peotone dealer is a small dealership and the GM there said they have not ordered very many Mach E Mustangs so Ford may give high volume dealers preference when scheduling the build week for the cars. He has received 2 Mach E Mustangs that were ordered last summer and I think he received his loaner too so the cars are coming in just extremely slowly. But who really knows; I don't!

EDIT UPDATE 5-20-21: I checked the Ford Order app and it finally showed some movement in the production of what would have been my car. They are getting the materials ready to go into production with it. In a huge surprise to me, they DID NOT change the exterior color of the car; it's still Infinite Blue. It's still at least one or two months before Terry's Ford gets it. It will be 8 or 9 months to get it delivered kind of like Ford was pregnant and will deliver that Mach E soon.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting.

I’m leaning toward the high volume dealer priority theory too.

I think yours is a special case. Someday they’re going to tear an old office building down and find your order behind a file cabinet.

I have canceled my order with the dealer, too, and got my deposit back. But the order is still "live" on Ford.com. Do I need to do anything about that?

No, I don't think there is anything to do about it. The car already has a VIN I assume so it is in line to be produced and the dealer will have it to sell when it is delivered to the dealership. If it doesn't have a VIN I think the order can be canceled but you would need to talk to your dealer about that. I am in the same situation as my car has a VIN and still shows in the Order web site as accepted and it will be scheduled in the next available build week (whenever that is); it's the same status and message that's been there for months..
