How much range/hour are people getting on 110

Just got an estimate for installing charging station from our solar installer (no garage, so a long run of underground cable). He suggested that before spending the money to try going with 110 instead of level 2. He has a Tesla M3 and says he gets 5-6 of range per hour at level 1. What are people getting with the Mach-E? Do Teslas really charge faster on 110? If I could get 5 instead of the 2 I've read on the forum, that would work for me.

I have a Select w/SR, RWD.....have over 1000 miles, only have charged w/120 line......I am not sure, if you check miles added at charging, is it an estimate based on how you drive like the EST Range??......I am averging 5.2 kwh over the 1000 miles based on my trip 2 numbers......now if the numbers of miles added/hour of charging IS an estimate based on how one drives, it would explain some of our results......I have been averaging about 5+ miles/hour of charging over the last month plus (especially since the weather temps are up to 60's)......if this is due to the type of driving I do, that explains my numbers.....as I've said on other threads, my driving is local and mostly lower speeds, very little highway, high speeds.....

I guess I'm wondering if the miles added when charging is just an estimate based on how one drives, or something more standard???.....maybe someone knows better than I do....

3 miles per hour sounds about right most of the time.

I do want to through it out there that it may decrease in really cold weather. We had a test Mach-E in February before I added the 240V charger. The temps were in the single digits over night and the garage was likely below freezing. I think it was more like 1.5 miles per hour in that case because of battery warming and I set a departure time to warm the cabin.

I gain about 1% per hour when I plug into level 1 / 110V. Since I’m rated for 270 miles, I guess that makes 2.7 miles / hour.
Tesla doesn’t charge faster. A 110v outlet only provides so much power. Tesla is a bit more efficient and can make a little more milage from that power. And Tesla is a little overly optimistic / dishonest with their range meter. So I could believe his Tesla GOM goes up 5-6 miles/hr.

The last few times I charged my 4X I used 220 volts to charge to 90% and then 110 volts to charge to 100%. The 10% equals about 25 miles. It usually takes about 6 hours.

The last time I heard a fan or something running. It took 12 hours.

Any idea what was going on?

My Tesla gets 3 -4 mph on a 120 volt 15 amp circuit (current max is 12 amps based on the 80% rule).
My Tesla gets 5 mph on a 120 volt 20 amp circuit (current max is 16 amps based on the 80% rule.)
My Tesla gets 59 mph on a 240 volt 100 amp circuit (current max is 80 amps based on the 80% rule).

I will be using the Tesla 80 amp EVSE to charge my Mach-E at whatever its maximum current is when it arrives, probably in June.

They technically charge at the same rate - 1.4 kW.

A US household wall outlet can provide a steady draw of 12A maximum, or 1,440W (120V*12A).

Because Tesla's EPA efficiency per mile is higher (though as everyone has already pointed out, IRL the Tesla might not be more efficient), the "miles/hr" will be higher.

My Mach-E should in theory get 4.9 miles/hr... 88 kWh / 1.44 kW = 61.1 hours -> 300 miles / 61.1 hrs = 4.9 miles/hr...

But theory is a funny thing, there are charging losses. Heat, computers, AC->DC conversion.

3 miles/hr is reasonable.

I wonder how much difference it makes that Tesla is using a heat pump to condition the battery instead of resistance heat?

Battery temperature maintenance is the cause of the fan you heard.

My Tesla (2016 Model S) uses a 6 kW resistance heater.

In my one test I charged for 17h31m and got 10%. So if my math is right, that means I got 8.8kWh and I'm getting about 2.6 mi/kWh so in 17.5 hours I got 1.3 miles per hour of charge
