Tail wind? Downhill? Perfect weather?
Nope, very steep uphill into the wind. Thats why it is surprising. Temp about 40 F. It was preconditioned. Used 4% of battery capacity vs normal 10%

I remember some Job 1 owners reported their cars failing to follow the charging schedule and people felt it was because it didn't have the correct location. That was a while ago and I think it was fixed with a software update. Maybe that is your issue.

Like others here, I have never had the issues you are reporting. But my software is fairly up to date.

And the only feasible way I can see you charging beyond 100% is if you charge to 100% at the top of a mountain and regen brake all the way down. That energy has to go somewhere.

I think the part you’re not recognizing is that most of the time when it says “100%,” that DOES NOT equal 88 kWh. Especially if it’s cold out side.

As other have posted from scanner results, you can’t trust the display.

100% is relative to battery temp and exterior temp and changes.

Bottom line? You aren’t charging over 100%.

Batteries also aren’t like gas tanks (where full is full). Full for a battery is a moving target.

Think about it like an old cell phone battery. Even when it’s only half the capacity of when it was new……. It still charges to “100%.”

Maybe so, but Ford is supposed to release another 3 KWhr where does that come from?

I agree but I have seen my car hit 88 kWh when it reached 100% SoCD using my OBDII scanner. I only saw that once, but I think when it is warmer I will see it again. This winter 100% SoCD has varied from 82 ish to 86 ish.

Exactly, that’s why I said most of the time it’s not 88.

From the part of the capacity you aren’t able to access currently.

It’s software limited.

FWIW, you cell phone doesn’t let you charge to max capacity either.

It makes the battery not wear out as quickly.
