Depends what you mean by update? As built? Yes. Firmware? Yes with FORScan, but I do not recommend it over bluetooth....
I have been using my MX over Bluetooth for years. The MX was the most recommended adapter years ago.

So stock non-GT trims don't show the regen? Sad, even LEAFs do that.
You aren’t missing much. It might as well be called a “brake meter,” because all it’s showing is how much you are braking.

Yep, very basic information like how much regenerative braking is occurring is what I’m after. Every other EV and PHEV in existence shows this.

Not for firmware updates I hope? The MX is a fantastic device I actually own 3 of them! I just would NOT use a wireless connection for actual firmware updates. Flashing as built is ok.

FORScan changes only.

You may want it, but it’s totally useless info. You already know how much you are braking or slowing down.

Only reason the power meter is useful on the GT is because of the gray bars that let you know when power is limited and by how much.

Useless to you doesn’t mean useless to everyone.
That’s fair. But this thing you can’t have, what use would you have for it?

it’s a fun toy to watch, I just don’t see a practical use.

I would like to see when the car is regenerative braking vs using the friction brakes. Since every other EV and PHEV in existence shows this info, I must not be the only one to see value in it.

FORScan can do firmware updates too if you download the right version.
Right.

I have been using FORScan, with that adapter, for 6+ years. Added features to my F-150, enabled kick sensor and power meter on Mach-E.

Ah, I honestly didn’t think it shows that.

Every time I slow down, it’s green.

And if I had to stop fast enough to force friction brakes, I definitely wouldn’t be looking down at the dash (that would be dangerous).

I did make a video a while back showing how much green shows up in different modes (not touching the brake pedal though).

Here it is:
