Side cameras were never illegal just frowned upon because they wanted a mirror for visual aid viewing the rear. Their is a test period happening I think now to allow cameras to be used as the side view mirrors looking back.

I don’t understand going through the process of adding cameras and then making them stick out just like regular mirrors. The whole point of cameras is to get rid of that whole assembly.
