November 19th while on a weekend road trip near Philadelphia (Leaving Baltimore), about an hour into the trip up 95 the car had severely reduced power and displayed 2 warnings. I got a "Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power" and a "High-Voltage Battery Warning". Luckily the car had already received the update and I could still drive it. We limped it the rest of the way to our destination, and stayed the weekend. On Sunday I drove like a grandma out for a Sunday cruise for the entire 100 mile trip back home. Calling around the next day, most dealerships couldn't look at the car until mid to late December, with some being booked through January. I did eventually get an appointment for November 30th. I just dropped the car off yesterday. Time to wait and see if mine is as big of a horror story as others have had.

shouldn't be bad if the Dealership has done one before, finds the appropriate DTC codes thrown, and orders a replacement HVBJB via their COPIS special order process.

I probably should have included more information with my original post.

I did read the post from the link above and immediately called the phone number for the Ford BEV team. I was told on the phone that I could net get a case number generated until after the car was dropped off at a dealer for service. Disappointed, I sent a DM to the Ford Team that monitors this forum. I did not get a response to the original message until 2 days later, but once they responded the first time, they were very responsive thereafter. I was given a case number on November 21st and told that someone from the "Customer Experience Specialist on the escalated BEV support team" would reach out to me within a few days. However, I have not heard from anyone yet.

So do the replacement HVBJB’s have the same issue as the ones that are going bad? And will the new ‘23s be subject to this seemingly inevitable failure?

Reportedly the part was changed earlier this year so post recall Mach Es shouldn't suffer the failure.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Zero reported failures at this time for units built after May 25. I also have not heard of any failures of replacement HVBJB’s since that time. There was one case reported but the HVBJB was DOA at the dealer and not a usage failure.

The service advisor just called and told me that it was diagnosed as a contactor failure (at the battery I believe). I asked if it had anything to do with the TSB and the failure of the HVBJB and his response was "NO". He could not offer me an ETA for the parts, but did state that he had opened a COPIS case for the parts. I don't feel very good about them not addressing the HVBJB and made that concern aware to him, but he did not seem to understand my frustration. I don't understand why it wouldn't just be replaced now while the car is already apart.

The icing on the cake is that they do not currently have any loaner cars available for me to pick up.

Doesn't the HVBJB contain the battery contactors?

I would bet there is a reasonably good chance the advisor is wrong and it is in fact the HVBJB they have ordered. Ask for what part number they had to order, then you would know for sure.

That is why I questioned if him and I were indeed talking about the same thing. I specifically asked "is this the HVBJB that is related to the TSB and the Recall?" His response was "no".

I guess it could still be one in the same and perhaps he just doesn't know.

Ask the service advisor which contactors have failed. That will be telling as to what the issue is. There is at least one other forum member who had to have the HVBJB replaced but it wasn't due to the TSB issue. Did you get the Stop Safely now or Service Vehicle Soon alerts as well when all this went down?

Yes, and at least a couple of different ones.

I got the "service vehicle soon" warning. I assumed it was because I had already received the OTA update.
