It works for my Visa card but I didn't double click it for Charge Pointe charger and that was probably the problem. I'll try that next time. Thanks for the info.
It should work exactly the same as your Visa card.

I also didn't know there were electric Harleys; who would buy them?? Everyone thinks of Harleys as being loud with the distinctive Harley sound. I would think the people who ride electric Harleys would get a lot of trash talk from the "real" Harley guys and gals. Kind of like us getting comments about the Mach E isn't a "real" Mustang.
you mean like these guys? Iā€™m sure someone trash talked them.

I know this is yesterday's news for most of you but I did my first DC charge this afternoon and spent a whooping $0.80. It was a Charge Pointe EVSE at a Harley Davidson dealer and being a Sunday it was great as nobody was around. In front of the charger was a sign "Motorcycles Only"?? There are electric motorcycles? Anyway, I flipped down the door that allows the DC connection and plugged it in. I tapped my Charge Pointe card and the charger started making funny noises so I could tell it was running. Because of the sun, I couldn't read the sign on the charger. I only charged from 88% to 90% (I know, I know - only charge to 80%). There was absolutely nobody around so I wasn't keeping anyone from charging. As has been stated on this forum the rate of charge drops precipitously over 80% and it certainly took its time to charge the 2% SOC. I now know how to do it and won't be so hesitant to try the chargers. I still don't like hearing the stories of them not working properly and the lack of Plug and Charge capability but I'm getting there. ?
Welcome aboard. It's refreshing to see newbies coming onboard. I got my first BEV - the MME 2 months ago but came onboard here earlier. This is a great place to get a degree in engineering, electronics and lots of other things. Check the search button for lots of topics and dont be afraid to ask.

Thank you. I don't consider myself a "newbie" as I joined in October 2020. I AM a newbie when it comes to actually owning, caring for, charging, etc. a new BEV as I just purchased my MME a little over a week ago (it has been on order since October and I finally decided I'd had enough) . I've owned 3 hybrids but a BEV is another animal. You can read all you want but you have to experience it yourself to really appreciate the technology in the car. And as far as charging it, that is (now "was") my biggest fear as you have to do it yourself to experience what to do if things don't go well. I have the basics of Level 2 charging (similar to charging at home) and now DC charging down. I can only hope that Plug and Charge will work for me. Again, thank you for being so welcoming to this forum. It's been my pleasure to learn as much as I could and interact with other like minded people who want to learn about this new car.

Yes. I had to experience all that and the forum helped the experience so much quicker.

I have an iPhone X does it have NFC? When there was talk about using your phone as a key I was upset because my phone didn't have something and I think I remember somebody saying NFC. It turns out PaaK doesn't rely on NFC. Be that as it may, my iPhone (actually my Apple watch) does Apple Pay without problem when I press the side button of the watch and hold it by the reader. I don't know why this particular Charge Pointe wouldn't recognize the phone. It was a Level 2 charger in downtown Frankfort in their municipal parking lot. There is a walking trail that runs right by it and we've seen cars plugged in there charging.
I got a ChargePoint charger at home a few years ago for my Honda Clarity mainly because thatā€™s what they have in the parking structure at work. Iā€™d pull in, double click my Apple watch and hold my arm up to the unit. Get the tap on the wrist and start charging. Easy Peasy.

Gee, I'm sorry. Maybe because I just got my car and I'm new to all of this I wasn't paying particular attention to DC charging. I'll try not to ask dumb questions in the future. Thank you for your patience with a new owner.
Here's the thing: you are not a "new member" by any stretch. Back in October when you first joined, many of us politely tried to catch you up on the Mach E, including giving you the correct information about order and delivery times. Some of those that tried to set you straight were people that work for ford; you were understandably skeptical. Despite lots of corroboration you were combative. Over time those same people have continued to answer your questions and even continue to feed solid information to you - which you finally began to accept.

Regardless of that history you have more than 800 posts since last October, many of them asking questions that have already been answered multiple times - including threads that were active at the time. The discussion with the charging curve dropping off at 80% has been discussed ad nauseam for the last 3 months at least.

You did just got buy a car off the lot within the last few weeks rather than wait for your order to come in; I know because I read your posts - as have many members here. At some point it would be polite for you to extend the courtesy and read other people's posts when they're not answering your questions, too.

If you don't wish to answer someone's questions, don't. Mediums like this tend to take on a quasi-conversational mode. It's sometimes difficult to EASILY find an answer to one's query. So, someone becomes conversational and posts that question. There is nothing forcing anyone to read or attend to conversations that don't affect, appeal to, or frustates you or me. Furthermore, we might recall that most of us are adults here, and none of us hold any rank to chastise one another like teacher to school-boy/girl. Consider ignoring posts that are redundant or those whose questions irk you. Let people be people.

Sure, and I do. However, at some point the annoyances from posters who continually expect the forum to be their personal research department pile up. I never owned an EV of any kind before, but gained a great deal of information here and at other sources. I even read the manual several times before I got my car in February. I generally try to share that information, but over the last few months there has been a great deal of "just answer my question without me having to even read the first page of threads". A lot of those are from newbies which is understandable. That approach from people who've been here long enough to be caught up is wearing thin.

But, you are correct: I was being cranky and should just have let it go.

You do realize those Harley chargers are among the slowest DCFC stations out there, right?

No, I didnā€™t know that. Thank you for letting me know. Since I was just doing this to learn how to do a DC charge it really didnā€™t matter to me; the important thing was doing it correctly and having it start a charge. The actual test is when I drive the car to my daughterā€™s house in Sycamore. Itā€™s 78 miles each way and the route planner has me doing one charge on the way home for a short stop at 4 EA chargers in Aurora IL. We already scouted out these chargers before we got the car. Itā€™s in a Meijer parking lot next to a bank of Tesla chargers. I believe these chargers are 150 kWh so they should charge faster; correct?

Because Harley LiveWire bikes only take up to 25kW charging, the DCFCs at most Harley dealers are 25kW stations. Yes, you can expect charging to be 4-6 times faster at a 150kW EA station.

I encourage you to acquaint yourself with to only the Ford navigation but also apps/web pages for PlugShare and A Better Route Planner.

Thanks. I usually use Route Planner (I used it prior to getting my car). I have never used PlugShare or the navigation program in my car because it's so new and I haven't been able to try all of the features yet.
