PaaK- I know you can set up more than one profile.
My question is, I want my work phone to be primary during the day ( until 5 pm) and then personal phone.
I want music from my personal phone while answering calls and texting with both phones. Is that possible?
I like to leave my personal phone in the car while working but always have my work phone during those times. I stick my work phone in my bag each visit so locking would be easier.
Both phones are IPhones
This may not be possible. Trying to see how it works for others.
Thanks

I would start by setting up two user profiles, one for each phone, and switching between them at 5 pm.
Regarding using one for the music while the other one is used for calls etc. - maybe a wired connection for the music phone while the "main" phone is on the Bluetooth?

Will my personal calls still come through Bluetooth and my work ones?

I don't know, but it should be pretty easy to test even without setting two profiles.

All my suggestions are purely theoretical - I haven't even tried to connect a phone to a USB port. Now I might :)

Sorry, this is all new to me. Trying to understand if car will know I’m using my work phone as primary but realize my personal phone is there too, if that makes sense. Will I be confusing the car?

My wife and I both have iPhones. I can manually switch between the 2 if we're both in the car, but only one can be connected at a time.

Ok, so if you are both in the car, if you are connected. She has to pick up her phone to answer a call. I will just leave my work phone out of this. Thank you.

You can connect multiple phones to SYNC, but only one can be active, i.e. profile.

You can connect multiple phones at once via Bluetooth.

There is no way to automatically switch at a specific time.

I thought that if a phone was connected to Bluetooth, but not the Primary phone, that one could pipe the call's audio via the car if it was connected via BT (not initiate a call, not answer a call, not text, just hear the call you manually answered), but haven't verified that. Rarely do we both get a call in the car, and most of the time we did in the past was in the truck with old Sync (2013).

Easily found using anyone looked.

If both are connected and either gets a call, it can be heard over the car's audio. But only the primary phone can be connected to SYNC and the car's buttons.

Ahh, we both are configured to connect using CarPlay, which only allows one connection at a time. Never thought about just a bluetooth connection....

When a phone is connected via Bluetooth, at least an Android phone, you can toggle off and on Phone Calls, Media Audio, Contact Sharing, and Text Messages if that device's capabilites allow it.

In addition, you can connect a phone physically vs USB.

The non-Sync-active phone must be managed physically, or by voice if it accepts voice instructions. Only the Sync-active phone can be engaged with via the Sync interface.

Are you sure you can have two Bluetooth connected at the same time?

I have two phones and found they always “switch” and disconnect the other one and won’t both stay connected

probably one of my only main complaints about the car (my old Infiniti handled this without a problem)

my wife’s escape (though sync 3) is the same way… figured it was a sync limitation

Let's start with the manual. You can also find numerous references via searching on Google.

CONNECTING A BLUETOOTH® DEVICE

Press the button on the status bar to open the vehicle drawer.
1. Make sure Bluetooth® is enabled on your device.
2. Press Connectivity.
3. Press Bluetooth.
4. Switch Bluetooth on.
5. Press Add a Bluetooth Device.
Note: A prompt alerts you to search for your vehicle on your device.
6. Select your vehicle on your device.
Note: A number appears on your device and on the touchscreen.
7. Confirm that the PIN (personal identification number) on your device matches the number on the touchscreen.
Note: The touchscreen indicates that you have successfully paired your device.

PLAYING MEDIA USING BLUETOOTH®

Connect your device.

Press the button on the status bar to open the application drawer.
Press the Bluetooth® option.
Press to play a track. Press again to pause the track.
Press to skip to the next track.
Press and hold to fast forward through the track.
Press once to return to the beginning of a track. Repeatedly press to return to previous tracks.
Press and hold to fast rewind through the track.

Browsing your Media Library

When a compatible mobile device is connected to the vehicle, your media library will be accessible through the touchscreen. From the touchscreen, you can browse through songs, albums, artists, and playlists on your mobile device.
Note: This feature is dependent on the connected mobile device and the media application used.
Note: Browse feature functionality may be limited while driving.

Is there a way to simplify your life by consolidating to a single phone? Maybe forward your work number to your other phone?

Don’t think the question was how to setup Bluetooth but rather can 2 phones be active.
I definitely can use one device for BT phone and one device for BT audio at the same time… but haven’t been able to get both to be active for BT phone at the same time
