So many great details! And I'm glad they liked the shirt and mask.

I really wish they would swing by Colorado, but who knows, maybe dealers will get those demo cars by the end of the month.
You opportunity rests on the FCTP deliveries, hopefully in late November - early December.

So how do you request a ride along? Is there a chance I could score that in Chantilly on the 14th?

To follow up on what @mattsaradan said, it was great to go for a ride. Rainy days and suburban streets aren't the best place to make it shine. However, Zach provided good examples of the acceleration three times: standing stop, from about 10 mph or so, and up a hill. He demonstrated the one-pedal driving and a few other features. I'm hoping to get a ride-along at a future Tour stop when it won't be raining and can listen to the Unbridled sounds.

Yes, there is a chance. Zach and another Ford employee will be at many of the DC events, I'm just not certain which ones. I know someone else is supposed to bring the car to Apple Ford tomorrow and Lindsay Ford next week. I don't recall which of the VA stops but I think he did mention this Saturday.

Just remembered another item:

Light Gray Steering Wheel Panels
The Tour guides had no idea but had only seen all-black steering wheels.

Range
Yes, ever most on everyones' minds these days. I chatted range with Zach during our test ride. You'll hear that in the video once I post it. He picked up his Infinite Blue E4X, 081M886 (for lots of photos see https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...videos-from-koons-ford-silver-spring-md.1862/), this morning from their office in Northern Virginia, swung by Leesburg, then across I-70 with the cruise locked on 75 mph. He started out this morning showing a range of 302 miles on a full charge. With 75 mph travel in steady rain, he said his realistic range was about 270 miles/charge. Matt got a similar answer from Zach during his test ride.

He has found his efficiency to range between the low and mid-3 mi/kWhs. Usually around 3.5 on highway and trying to get places. Events like this drop it down and he was currently showing around 3.1 mi/kWh. Here's a shot from Zach's screen:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

Don't be too down seeing the 3.1 -- You'll see why in the video of my test ride. There were multiple rapid acceleration demos in each trip around the test ride course. No hypermiling here.
Actually, 3.1 miles/kWh on a AWD ER is good news. That's right on par (270 / 88 = 3.07).

But then there's an apparent disconnect in the charging screen, where it says it's at 100% with 239 miles of range.

Those 2 things don't add up.

Fusion Energi

Hi guys......

My wife and I visited Koons Baltimore Ford today. It was very well attended. In 50 years of driving, Koons is by far the best place which I have purchased cars.
I feel some regret for not giving Dennis and Tom my business on this deal. Bought our Fusion Energi from them in 2016. Easy & best price over internet and no shenanigans on the quote after the hour long drive. I would have loved to get the time back we spent in the F&I room though. That was like having a toddler again. No. No. No. No. No. No. Not today. No. No. No. No.

Oct of 2016 was the perfect time to buy 2017 Platinum Fusion Energi.

Was looking at Avalon & ES 350 when I popped in to see an MKZ at the Ford/Lincoln dealer. On the floor they had a Platinum Fusion ICE. Loaded with everything that was an option on the ES and a lot of features unavailable on the Avalon. The chocolate Napa leather was beautiful. When I found out they were throwing money on the PHEV model to get them off the lot my frugal self got involved and switched gears from ICE to PHEV.

All said and done. 2k Energi Package discount on the Monroney Sticker. 5,200 Koons discount. 1,500 Manufacturer incentive cash along with 500 finance cash and 0% financing. An extra $750 incentive for requesting a brochure from Ford.com. $4k Fed Tax credit.

14k off the 43,500 MSRP. Financed the whole shebang at 0% and kept the money working. Throw on top that I’ll save another 5,000 in fuel costs over 8 years compared to what I originally set out to purchase and I could not afford to not buy that car.

If only Md hadn’t screwed me out of their promise of $950.

Four years with the Fusion gave me confidence Ford can put together a nice car and opened me up to EVs generally.

[Apologies for all the numbers. It's like a poker bad beat story, no one cares but the one telling it, however, I am going to have those numbers carved on my grave stone. I doubt I will ever do better....and no one in my circle will let me bring it up anymore.]

It is also showing 843 miles in 8.36 hours. I don't think he actually averaged 100 mph, either.

Matt and I took separate test rides (first and third of the day, respectively) then met afterwards. We proceeded to each kick around the two cars checking out features, asking questions, comparing notes, and doing what we could to resolve some lingering Forum questions.

BTW @Mach-E VLOG, the Tour guides were impressed with the Mach E gear and asked where I got it.

There were lots of folks there to see the cars. We had lots of time to get snippets of investigation in around the other guests. The Tour guides were knowledgeable but lots of our tough Forum questions made me feel like an episode of "Stump the Chumps". Maybe they'll get answers to a few of these before the DC stops are over. I'll be seeing them again next week, if not tomorrow. I'll see if they got answers.

So, here are some of those questions in no particular order except I know the first will be in demand.

Don't be too down seeing the 3.1 -- You'll see why in the video of my test ride. There were multiple rapid acceleration demos in each trip around the test ride course. No hypermiling here.

Charging
No luck getting to see the full function of the charging screens. The Tour guides repeatedly mentioned this was pre-production, so lots of things aren't complete. They also indicated many features are available in the app. It dawned on me later that I should have tried programming in a time. That was probably where the other options come in. I'll try that on another stop.

While the guides were confident the CCS connector is locked in place during charging, they were't sure if it would auto-unlock once the battery is full. They guessed locked was locked but I could tell they were guessing. They did say they'd try to find out from an engineer.

Switching Drive Modes on the Control Levers
I forgot who stated this one (on the Mach E Club I think) but no. No magic drive mode selector buttons as @mattbostonmache said. However, I really liked the design of the wiper controller with the dial accessible on both sides of the paddle (sorry that photo is blurry).

Side Mirrors
Matt discussed auto dimming with Zack. Yes the rearview mirror is auto dimming. As far as he can tell, Zack found no indication the side mirrors auto dim. This is consistent with the Packaging Guide, Ordering Guide, and Brochure, too.

When sitting in the cars, I found the mirrors to be of adequate size. I know someone thought they were small.

Yes, to answer someone's question where the side cameras are located: in the side mirrors.

Cargo Area Cover
The more I see it the more I like the new design. It is lightweight and easy to install/remove at the four corners. It fully covers the area without obscuring the view out the rearview mirror.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

While it twist-folds up into a smaller size, unfolded it is just a bit smaller than the cargo deck. That means you can just toss it under the cargo deck and it's out of your way and a snap to lift out and attach.

Power in Back
No question, 12 volt "cigarette lighter" style.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

Cargo Net Ready
It's interesting that the accessories list the Brits received doesn't list a cargo net for the back. However, you can see one of the upper hooks for it next to the 12V outlet above (there's a mate on the opposite side). You can also see the two metal loops for it at the hatch edge (left up, right down).

Apple Car Play and Waze
Wirelessly syncing my phone to the car was easy. The Tour guide said he usually just uses the cable. Apple Car Play seems to use most of the upper section near the screen top while still providing access to "cards" below it. As we've seen before, that still leaves climate control and the volume knob underneath. It also locks out use of your phone's screen (see below).

You don't have to use Apple Car Play for Waze, however, as it is one of the already existing apps. The Tour guide says it still operates through your phone, so Waze is effectively running in the Sync4a screen, tethering to your phone for data.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

It also locks your phone screen.

Front Camera Cleaner
There was a discussion earlier about camera cleaner on the front. You can see the cleaner that pops out hidden away in its hidden-hole here:

Frunkage
One of the Tour guides told me a little story about the self-draining Frunk. This was a solution to a problem that became a feature. Yes, the Frunk seal is pretty well airtight. I checked it more thoroughly on this visit and am confident it's solid. Unfortunately, by sealing the Frunk this well, it made it hard to shut the hood. There was nowhere for the air to go. The Frunk drain was originally a solution to allow suddenly increasing pressure in the Frunk to escape. Then someone decided to make it into a self-draining Frunk.

While we don't know what those frunky little panels are,
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

he was confident they are air and water tight. I couldn't manage to get them open either ?

Front License
The Mach E Specialist at Koons Ford Baltimore was really on the ball. When I started measuring the space under the nose for a license plate bracket, he knew exactly what I was up to. It seems they have a standing order on all Mustangs: don't install the front license plate holder unless the customer specifically asks for it. I'll post more photos and details in the Front License Plate thread (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/what-are-peoples-plans-for-front-license-plates.1295/). I'll also reach out to Craig at Craig’s Custom Mustang Bracket but I'm pretty confident his bracket will work fine.

Voice Commands
While more may come later in OTA updates, the current operable voice commands are largely related to the Sync4a system: navigation, infotainment, etc. Neither the Tour guides nor Zach thought it would do things like open the hatch (or pod bays). However, it can be used to set climate control.

Valet Mode
All the Valet Mode lock/unlock PIN do is to turn the Valet mode on and off. I found nothing where it would give you an opportunity to get a PIN to give the valet. Looks like we may need the fob for that.

Light Controls
I can confirm the upper two are map light on/off buttons. The lower left turns off all interior lights. The one on the lower right is still uncertain. A Tour guide guessed it turned off the Puddle Lights (@GoGoGadgetMachE's guess) but that seemed to be a guess on his part. @generaltso's guess of disabling the interior lights turning on when doors are opened is possible but when I pressed it I didn't get a response. However, by the time I tested that there were lots of people and I couldn't control the doors.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Impressions and Photos From DC Area Mach-E Tour, 11-21 November img_6238-jpe

Drive Mode Sounds
I'll have to test that on another test ride. Zach didn't get to that until the end of our trip. I'll have to turn up the stereo, too. However it didn't seem to vrooom until you were actually moving. No revving the "engine" at a light. Besides, the sound is inside only.

Outside Sound
Not very loud. I have a video but you can't hear it. There was a lot of road noise from the 8 lane road out front and with the rain, you mainly hear the tires throwing water. Of course, since the outside sound is supposed to alert pedestrians, even an electric car makes noise driving in the rain.

Outside Plastic Pieces
As mentioned elsewhere, the full front bumper and fascia, wheel lip moldings, and rear bumper panel are plastic. They were surprisingly flexible. This softness concerns me regarding gravel cuts and scratches. I'm definitely overing those with XPEL Ultimate.

SWAG
Yes, there was SWAG for those of us who took test rides. Same as @CHeil402 showed us.

That charging screen is misleading as it is of one of the stationary demo cars. Don’t count on it for range estimates.

3.5 is even better. Takes it to 308.
True, although I tend not to put as much credence on what someone (especially a salesman) just "says" they were getting. Even if not intending to inflate it, there's just a human tendency to self-select the better number when promoting something. That's why I prefer to see the actual screenshots.

Although we still have yet to see the key number that would tell us the most -- a screenshot of the miles/kWh at highway speed. That's the gold standard for me.
