why does everyone want a chargepoint for $600-700 when a grizzl-e works great for $400? isn’t scheduling handled by the mach-e?
Think it's more if someone has the money they buy the one they like over the one that does the job. The charger the mache comes with really will get the job done for almost everyone.

Kinda like buying the mache vs buying the cheapest car. Both get the job done. Just people buying what they like.

Just under $1500 for a 70 amp circuit and hardwired charger, charger included. 3 business days from first click to installation.
What size wire did they use?

My utility (SRP) offers an instant $250 rebate on smart chargers. That makes the ChargePoint about the same as the Grizzl-E on Amazon.

I got a juice box 40 (14-50 plug). Charge point was out of stock on both amazon and charge point. I got $50 off and am eligible for$300 back from my utility

Has anyone used a Clipper Creek charger? That is what the company that installed my solar panels and Tesla battery offers.

No personal experience, but I know it is pretty highly rated.

I've had a Clipper Creek (HCS-40) that I bought used 4 years ago and it continues to work perfectly. The person I bought it from installed a power meter on it so I can see the power level and total energy that my MME takes. However, I am looking to get a smart charger (maybe the Grizzl-E Smart) so I can vary the power levels and monitor the charging from my phone. Not really necessary but just another toy to add to my collection.

Anyone have a 14-50 cord for Chargepoint Home Flex they are willing to part with if you hardwired? I picked up a Home Flex for our cottage but it has a 6-50. If I can't get one at a reasonable cost, I may just hardwire, but I like the option to plug in with Ford supplied charge cord if there is ever an issue with the Home Flex.

The Mach-E doesn't do everything, like show you the current charge rate or keep track of cost. Also, a lot of power companies are offering TOU options that require a compatible smart charger (or will soon). The ChargePoint is the most common supported model.
I found that in the Ford Pass app, when you schedule your charging time, they have options to automatically set TOU based on your provider, so the car can handle all the scheduling. You don't need a smart charger unless you want something fancy. We have Chargepoints all over our area, but they seem really pricey for home use. I was looking at the Juicebox instead.

If the TOU plan is only for your car, and not the rest of your house, that won't work without a smart charger or a whole separate meter.

I'd share one with you if I had it, but you can buy one from Home Depot for probably the cost of shipping from someone willing to part with theirs...

I don't doubt that the generic HD plug could be made to work, but I would be a little leery of using it. Could present an issue if you ever needed warranty coverage on the charger.
It seems that there is no way to get the official ChargePoint plug, so I am having a 6-50 receptacle installed. Planning to buy a 6-50P to 14-50R adapter in case I ever need to use the Ford mobile charger.
