Welcome to the Mustang family. That feeling when looking over the hood is the same with any version of the 'Stang.

Thought I would share yet another picture of an IB MME. This is Misty traveling the back roads of rural Central PA.

Believe it or not, when I first saw it, I didn’t love IB and thought it was a little too subdued for such a sporty vehicle. When I went back to take delivery, however, I loved it immediately, and stopped second guessing. This is the color that fits me best.

For me, things are going pretty smoothly so far. Even the interaction with my dealer Blaise Alexander in Lewisburg, PA was pleasant. The sales manager, Josh, always quickly and politely answered my e-mails; and my salesman, Justin, was always very professional. Justin held on to my key-fob tightly, and watched over my new marvel very closely until I took delivery. They are even getting me a second fob. Perks of being first.

Setting up FordPass and PAAK to work was so effortless, I actually thought I did something wrong. Since my last new car is now 13 years old, everything about this vehicle is new to me- including the driving and parking assist features—so initially I felt overwhelmed. With the help of the owners manual, videos, and the forum, I am just taking it slowly and am figuring it all out bit by bit. Approaching 1PD like it was my snowmobile that I control with my right foot instead of my right thumb is doing the trick for me — but I still need some practice before I would use it consistently. My negatives are nothing new— obnoxious wind noise from the panoramic roof at highway speeds and initial touchy breaks in Whisper Mode. Must be used to the breaks now, as this doesn’t seem to be an issue any longer. I am really hoping Ford will come up with a good solution for the wind noise, however. Ironically, one reason I wanted a BEV was for the quiet ride. I decided that I should remain cautiously optimistic about other issues for awhile longer, as I have not made any long trips or used public chargers yet.

The first thing I had to get used to was paying attention to my speed. The ride is so smooth and comfortable, I am often shocked when I look down at the speedometer. It feels like I’m going about 20 mph lower than my actual speed. My husband made a comment about how fast I drove home from the dealer, and my son replied that they will have to lock me into “My Little Pony Mode”. Ha! This Mustang must run free.

Oh, and the biggest surprise positive for me is the elated feeling I get when looking out at the hood while driving. There’s just something about the lines of the hood that is so satisfying to me.

Thanks for the great shots. Great memories of hot pretzels at the farmers market and fudge at Country Cupboard. Maybe I'll have to do a roadtrip from Cali in my IB once it arrives!

(never really wavered on the color).
Kept my dealer busy alternating between Rapid Red & IB. Loved the Red all along but IB worried me until seeing it IRL on an Explorer.

Thank you!!! I didn’t even know that. The designers should be feeling good, as that shows how they successfully captured the Mustang spirit. I’m loving being in the family even more now!

Honestly the car makes me feel more like I'm driving Michael Keaton's Batmobile than it does a Mustang.

Well I won't take delivery for 4 or 5 months (BUMMER) but my dealer called and said they had an Infinite Blue with Space Grey interior for a friend of his who happens to be the obstetrician who delivered his son (placed order last summer in June). He asked if Susan and I wanted to come out but I told him we saw one last week. He sent these pictures of the car prepped and ready to deliver. Wishing it was our car (sigh). 😍 🙏

Are you suggesting that, since his son was delivered with help from his friend, he is now returning the favor by taking participating in the delivery of this beautiful blue baby back to his friend?

The things we do for those we love. And for customers whose orders have arrived. Etc. :)

Very cute and clever analogy of delivering two "babies;" I should have thought of that! ;) He told me he really appreciated this doctor delivering his son because the doctor really supported the family when it turned out his son has cerebral palsy. He's in his twenties now and cannot walk or anything and needs constant care. They had him in a special program but with Covid, the program was suspended. To make matters even worse, he lost his wife a year ago due to complications from diabetes so he has to carry most of the load himself. His mother helps out when she can. My heart really goes out to him and what he has to do. Not your typical car salesman (he's really the GM). Sue and I really like him. The doctor reserved his Mach E early and transferred it to an order in June 2020 so he didn't have any special favors. If anything, I got a favor in using my X-Plan when the three dealers I checked with before him wouldn't accept it (I was especially mad at my dealer of 18 years who told me no). My neighbor referred me to him because he was their son-in-law before their daughter died. So yeah, you could say he loved this doctor but he didn't get any special treatment when ordering. But I know you were just kidding and that's fine.😊

The coating looks great! Did you apply the ceramic coating yourself? I have a 10h ceramic coating (Weiruixin 10h) and I was planning on applying it myself if I don't chicken out. My thought is since the car is brand new the prep will be a lot easier. I saw several videos on Youtube and one showed how they coated a new car and it looked fairly easy. Good wash and dry with microcloth. Inspection of clear coat for any blemishes, etc., from travel on train and clay bar those areas. Then a spraying on something to take iron off if you have hard water. After that a cleaner for ceramic prep or a 50/50 mix and alcohol wipe. You'll notice I didn't say color correction of the paint because it's brand new! The ceramic coating is not really that hard; do a section at a time with perpendicular wiping of ceramic coating on a special applicator they give you (few drops on applicator cloth) and then wiping it off almost immediately. Microfiber wipe of area with another clean microfiber cloth. I don't own an orbital polishing buff so I won't be doing that unless somebody thinks it is crucial. You have to leave car in garage for a period of time so that it "cures." This ceramic coating is not professional grade and lasts 2 years. My other choice which is a lot easier and takes far less preparation is a hybrid ceramic coating that has ceramic polymers and wax polymers and sprays on then you wipe off. It's made by Turtle Wax and I have a bottle of that too. That coating lasts about a year. So, one requires a lot of prep and the other doesn't. I'm told the shine from the hybrid is really good because it has SiO2 in it with the addition of a carnauba wax. So, should I try the ceramic coating or chicken out and use the hybrid? PS - I'll also be ceramic coating the Active-X upholstery with a product called "c.quartz" made by CarPro. It's made for leather and vinyl and applies like the ceramic coating on a car with special applicator one area at a time then buffing it off immediately. Lasts 2 years and protects from stains (I have Space Grey upholstery).

Yes done it myself and I had use mother cmx prep and ceramic . Very similar to turtle wax product and easy to apply. Put at least 2 coat and the result is stunning !
