Reviving an old thread. I had a first-time experience today: driving my 2021 Infinite Blue MME, I found myself at a stop light next to another Infinite Blue MME (which had to also be a 2021)! We gave each other a thumb-up.

This is the end of the Mauna Loa Weather Observatory Road on Hawaii Island. The old road was destroyed by the last eruption, and the new road only made it this far before funding was cut by the federal government this year.

Mauna Loa is the world's most massive mountain. It last erupted in November 2022 cutting off the weather observatory (Weather Research) near the summit.

Picture taken in August, just after 7 am HST. Otto is age 4. Earth? Not quite age 3. About 10,000 ft elevation.

Next week marks 5 years since Otto completed its 16 week journey from the Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant to the Port of Hilo via Kansas City Southern, BNSF, and a cruise on Pasha. The journey featured a 6 week layover in San Diego.

Still going strong in upcountry Hawaii.
