outside of the not-invented-here concept that software engineers tend to have… got to wonder why they wouldn’t just partner with a company like this, they have all kinds of partnerships for mechanical pieces, why not do the same for software that they will most likely never be the best at and is not a core function of the business. By this I mean, they could develop the best driving system and still I doubt it would change peoples minds that are hardcore GM, Toyota, Honda, etc.

I hear you but I would be willing to bet, based on personal experience, they are already using a TON of open source libraries and other software. And if you look at all of the consortiums like IEEE that they either participate in or consume from, they are using or referring to that reference software. Hopefully, with changing default configurations and settings.

There are numerous situations where companies implement these and either have junior developers doing it or contract for hirer engineers.

The Binarly REsearch Team has found that hundreds of devices use an insecure Platform Key (PK) which represents the root of trust for UEFI Secure Boot.

These insecure keys were generated by American Megatrends International (AMI) and were likely supplied as reference example to device vendors.

The usage of default test keys poses an immediate and high-severity risk

So I installed the stable branch without realizing that it was missing most of the features. I'm now trying to install the staging 1.1 branch but it says that it won't update when the car is on. If I turn the car off the device turns off with it...so how do you update the software version? I have to do a full reset every time?

I have a 2021 GT that doesn't have the Bluecruise hardware. Will this still be an option?? I'm assuming so, but wanted to verify before I went down the rabbit hole!

If you have adaptive cruise control it will work. I believe all 2021 had it.

Yup. Have that. Just one other question. It says that if you power from the one port, it can stay active when the car is off. Is that a drain on the 12v battery? I unplug my obd2 sensor when I’m not actively using it.
