I had some time to kill and calculated real efficiencies from this video. I have not heard much about ID4 range in cooler temps. 1st edition 2021 VW id.4 . I think it’s the RWD version., 8000 miles, 77kw battery, GOM showed 210 miles of range full charge for the 100% charge leg. Climate set to 68F and 65F. He notes he drives the speed limit.
1st leg, 53F, 68F climate, 82 miles, 61%-13%, 48% 37 kWh, mi/kWh=2.22. Real Range=171 miles
2nd Leg, 51F, 68F climate, 133 miles, 100%-25%, 75%, 58 kWh, mi/kw=2.29 Real Range=176 miles
Snowing highway route, 32F , 65F climate, car reported 1.7 mi/kwh highway, 55 MPH, Real Range =131 miles more than likely less with GOM error.
37F, 65 F climate, 110 miles, 80%-11%, 69%, 53 kW, mi/kWh=2.07, Real range=159 miles, car reporting 2.2 mi/kWh.
car showed 148 miles of range at 80% and 144 miles at 80%. After other 32F/37F cool temp charges.
So their overall performance seems lower than the Mach E at these conditions. They have GOM issues too. I am kind of happy I got 138 miles at 0F, and around 200 at 30F.
