If anyone is curious, you can view them here.

A few differences from the Mach E. The Battery coolant loop is completely separate from the Climate loop other than getting chilled with refrigerant by the Chiller (or Heat Pump).

The cabin heating is by Heat pump or an "air side" PTC heater (electric duct heater). It does not heat the coolant or use a liquid heater core, through a liquid PTC, like the Mach E.

Interesting finds.

Could this be why thereā€™s no frunk? To accommodate all the plumbing?

Nope, Most of lives around the front motor. The heat pump is mounted on the bottom left of the motor.

For example, This is the PTC heater for the battery located where the Mach E Frunk is. r.

if you notice the front is about 12-18" shorter than the Mach E on the I5 which is why no frunk.

With the wheels pushed out to the front and back, the interior can be larger. Its actually pretty compact under the hood. In a RWD I5, there is room for a frunk about as large as the Mach E's and it is sold as an option. One Owner put a 30 gallon tote there instead.

So the I5 has a "coolant" loop for the battery with it's own radiator and one for the motor/drives cooling with own radiator. No fluids for the climate system. So far (first cold day was today) at 27F outside, heat on 72F in the cabin, we are getting 2.8-3.0 Mi/kwh. I want it to be cooler for more data.

So Iā€™m confused here. If you get an Inoniq 5 with 1 motor (RWD), you get a frunk, but if you get an Ioniq 5 with 2 motors (AWD) no frunk because the heat pump and front motor are placed in the area where the frunk would be? Where do they put the heat pump if you donā€™t have a front motor? Same place?

Nope. Heat pump is only with the AWD dual motor. RWD you get electric (air side) cabin heating, AC, and electric battery heater like Mach E. You get battery cooling from the AC. The space difference is pretty much equal other than a reversing valve for the heat pump vs none for AC. The front motor is the missing component for frunk room.

Here is a RWD under the hood. The AC compressor is low. And a pic of the guy who put in a 30 gallon tote.

So there is a separate battery and cabin heater. The battery heater is 4.4 kW, and the cabin heater is only 1.8 kW? That doesn't seem like enough for when it's really cold. Maybe it's limited because of the heat pump running concurrently, but I want to know what the max kW is for the cabin heater please? Mach-E is about 5.5 kW.

Another big question is how cold does the heat pump work? How often does the outside coil have to defrost? Is there much benefit at 25ĀŗF?

We will know when the temp gets to 25F How the heat pump works. I am waiting for 25F and will use CarScanner to determine. The cabin duct heater is 6.3 KW. It also is designed for an airflow of 600 CFM.

6300 kW? I think their zero key was stuck or they added a k where they shouldn't have.

People have been ordering the larger frunk tub from the Korean model and putting it in. Hyundai just didnā€™t want to put an emergency exit button under the hood for US.

Wow, so in total it has double the heat output as the Mach-E. That would probably make it a better choice in cold climates when the temp is below -15Ā°F.

I would say, this AM, 27F, the heat pump was shuttled in favor of Electric Resistance cabin heating. At least that's what my nose says from the new electric coil burning smell on my way to work and 2.4 Mi/kWh. I had Carscanner plugged in and recording on Android, but it did not save the data file. I do not know why.
