Regarding the $100 rebate, my understanding is you can either get it from Ford (via prepaid card) or via the dealer taken off the price.

Either way they have a form you need to sign indicating the desired disposition of the rebate.
If you take it directly from Ford, it's a check, not a prepaid card

Congrats! I pick up mine tomorrow (it's arriving at the dealership today). I trust we'll both be putting on some miles this weekend...
No such thing. When you do your taxes you will fill out a form and all the IRS may do is ask for proof that you bought an EV. Also if you install a home charger hold onto the receipt as you can get 30% back of the home charger plus the cost to do the wiring back as tax credit as well. For example when I do my 2021 taxes I will will claim 7500 tax credit for the Mach E. I will get another 400ish in credit for getting the wiring done for the Nema 14-50 plug I installed and then another 100-200ish for my charging unit that I bought for a grand total in 2021 of a little over 8000 in tax credits. (charger was 500ish and the wiring for my house costed me little over 1200)
Got it! I already submitted for my 240 volt outlet. I didn't know you could still submit on 2021 tax return for EVSE purchases.

I purchased a Mach E last night and am going back today to pick it up. He said Ford has to give me the $100 ADA credit for the software available this fall. He didn't have me sign the notice about it there either. Are they still giving this $100 credit? If so, who delivers the $100 to me; dealer or Ford? He did not give me a letter for the IRS $7500 tax credit either. Who gives me that letter; dealer or Ford? When do the 22,000 Rewards Points show up in my Rewards App? When/how does the 250 kWh of electricity show up and where?

It would be nice if I had definitive answers before I see him at noon. Thanks.
So you FINALLY got that car after that long wait? Or is this not the one you ordered?

Regardless, now the REAL fun begins.

IRS Letter? When has someone who sold you something ever given you an "IRS Letter"? No such thing.

Crud, when I bought mine it wasn’t applied to the vehicle and I didn’t sign anything. Does this mean I’m totally out of luck on it?

Just make sure you wont own any tax from IRS next year. If you are the $7,500.00 rebate will be subtracted to what you owed then IRS will not give refund back for the rest of the rebate money to you.

You're probably not out of luck, but I'd contact the dealer to see if they can apply for it now.

I'm not sure if the paperwork to sign for the rebate is required (it may very by state, I have a vague recollection that some states have unique rules on who can file for rebates and how they can be paid).

Not sure what you are trying to say here, and the normal disclaimer to contact your accountant or tax professional, but the $7,500 is a tax CREDIT. Not a rebate. You have to have $7,500 or more in tax liability in order to claim the credit on your 2021 taxes.

And no, there is no "IRS Letter" - but if you do get one, make sure it is notarized and sent directly to your regional IRS office.

(yes . . . I am joking about the last statement)

It is not a rebate, it is a credit. As long as your total tax liability is at least $7500, you get the full credit. If you had a $7500 liability but overpaid your taxes, IRS will give you a refund. Be careful trusting what you read on the Internet.

IRS Letter? When has someone who sold you something ever given you an "IRS Letter"? No such thing.
I've received the $7,500 federal income tax credit on my 2018 Chevy Volt and my 2019 Chevy Bolt without a letter from the manufacturer or the IRS stating my vehicle qualifies for the tax credit.

However, my daughter purchased a 2018 Bolt and the IRS denied her credit because she didn't submit a letter stating that her Bolt qualified for the tax credit. She contacted her dealer and the manufacturer and was told no such IRS letter existed. So she sent in a screenshot from the IRS website showing the Bolt was listed as a qualified vehicle. The IRS agent still denied the credit stating he/she wanted a letter from IRS to the manufacturer which certified that her Bolt qualified for the tax credit. My daughter finally had to schedule a telephone call with another IRS agent to finally get the credit. So if you get your credit denied, go up the chain at the IRS to get your credit. It appears that some agents only read the tax code, which is out of sync with reality in this case.
