So you FINALLY got that car after that long wait? Or is this not the one you ordered?

Regardless, now the REAL fun begins.
No, this one was not ordered but met my specs. It was manufactured in March so a lot of the problems with software should be worked out. When I put VIN in I can see original person who ordered it. Now I have to call dealer where I originally ordered mine and I’m dreading that! The GM is who I ordered from and he’s a real nice guy and has put up with me throughout the process. But, this became available and since I had lost 3 or 4 I decided to bite the bullet and paid ADM. I’ve never done that before except for my Thunderbird. I was just too upset about how things were going and with microchip shortages and rubber shortages I’d had enough. It’s overwhelming when you actually get it because there’s so much to learn. Next stop is detailer and Xpel and side molding put on.

I purchased a Mach E last night and am going back today to pick it up. He said Ford has to give me the $100 ADA credit for the software available this fall. He didn't have me sign the notice about it there either. Are they still giving this $100 credit? If so, who delivers the $100 to me; dealer or Ford? He did not give me a letter for the IRS $7500 tax credit either. Who gives me that letter; dealer or Ford? When do the 22,000 Rewards Points show up in my Rewards App? When/how does the 250 kWh of electricity show up and where?

It would be nice if I had definitive answers before I see him at noon. Thanks.
I know I am a little late, but the $100 should appear on the contract in the rebate section as down payment. If it does not appear, they can claim it and pay it directly to you if they didn't put it on the contract. Once they claim it that way, ford will send you a check for the $100. ANY rebate from the manufacturer on a car can be elected to be sent to you instead of going down on the car. I work in car sales... we once had a customer who wanted to buy a car, but wanted to pay off some credit cards to make room for his new payment. The car had $8000 in rebates and his credit got him a good interest rate. We had ford send him the rebates instead. He used the money to pay the credit cards and paid a littler higher payment but at a lower interest rate than those credit cards. Dealers can get creative when they want to :).

The IRS tax credit is something you have your tax professional claim on NEXT year's taxes. The dealership has nothing to do with that. Your purchase contract (and bill of sale depending on your state) is your proof that you own a qualifying car.

My 22k rewards points showed up about two of three days after activating the car in Ford Pass. I imagine that is how long it takes the dealer to report the car sold to you with ford and their systems to do their thing. The electricity show up in your connected services under ford pass (I think). It will say something to the effect of "your promotional charging will be used and you will be charged once it expires".

Hope this helps.

How much did they add?
$2k. I walked about a month ago at same dealership when they added $5k but I've lost out on 3 or 4 chances and I reluctantly paid it (I was at my limit with all the waiting and worrying about semi-conductor shortages, rubber shortages, etc.). Had a better deal with one I ordered (X-Plan) but still hadn't heard directly from Ford on production week. I have only paid MSRP on one car and that was my 2002 Thunderbird; same deal with those; huge demand and small supply the first year.

So no X plan and 2K ADM? That's about a 3K difference then.

Yes, it went from a great deal on paper to a crappy deal yesterday. BUT it also went from a vaporware nightmare of 6 months of hell to a real delivery of a new car! As I told you, I’m usually very savvy at dealing for a car and have never paid MSRP or ADM before except when I purchased my 2002 Thunderbird and that was a very similar situation. I am being honest with you so please don’t make me feel worse about what I felt I had to do then I am feeling now. The extra money involved pales to what I have to do to the dealership where I ordered my car. The GM there has been great and he’s had to hear all my complaints and worries when it was and is Ford’s failure at rolling out this car. I will NEVER order a car again!!! This was my first and LAST time I’ll ever do it. Enough now, I have a brand new Mach E to finally ENJOY and I plan to do so right now.

Certainly enjoy it, but this year has been a cluster. I don't lay all the blame for delays on Ford. Covid did and continues to play a huge role in this. And . . . oh yeah, I waited 14 and a half months for mine.

You're a better man than I Charlie Brown! You waited longer because you placed your order when Ford opened up the reservation system which I knew nothing about. Had I known, I would have placed my reservation there too and I would have waited longer too. The result would have probably been the same in the end, however, in that I had enough. You're right, all the blame cannot and should not be laid at Ford's doorstep and I don't blame them for the difficult year they have had. What I DO BLAME them for is their lack of communication and transparency with their customers and I have been very vocal about that these last several months. Now, that nightmare is over for me as well.

Thank you for not making me feel bad about what I felt I had to do; I'm certainly glad I was honest about my situation when you asked. And I'm glad your waiting 14 months for your car didn't bother you. I've NEVER ordered a car before and certainly did not know what I was getting into when I did. The dealer told me at the time it would take about 2-3 months tops which I believed. It wasn't until I joined this forum that I found out the real truth of the matter. Had I known I'm not sure what I would have done as far as ordering and putting down $500 for the car this year. I have always purchased my new vehicles off the dealer lots or had them dealer trade to get the car I wanted.

So yes, NOW I certainly WILL enjoy my new car as I have many things to learn and do.

Thank you Sir! I'm very pleased with it so far and feel lucky to have it. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush as they say.

It was manufactured 3-4-2021 and shipped 3-8-2021. It was delivered 3-31-2021 and I bought it 4-14-2021. So my car is very "fresh" off the production line and most of the software issues have been corrected (as I'm not finding many complaints that have been listed on this forum). The tone presets keep moving back to the neutral (middle) position and somebody mentioned this will be corrected via an OTA update. Bluetooth keeps losing the pairing to my iPhone X and I keep telling it to reconnect so I'm not sure if that's a Ford or Apple problem. Also, my hearing aids are paired with my iPhone X and this confuses Sync 4a so this could be contributing to my Bluetooth problem. My wife's iPhone 6s doesn't do the Qi recharging and she's really bummed about that (she'll have to continue keeping it plugged in to USB port). I want a new iPhone when they come out next fall so I plan to give her my iPhone X which does Qi charging. All I have left to do is treat the Active X upholstery with a ceramic coating and apply the Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid after the detail shop is done with the car. Thursday they put on the Xpel "bra," mount the side moldings, and put on the Ford bumper protector film. The OCD screen protector is in shipment and I should get it by Thursday so that's another thing to check off my "To Do List."

Congratulations! I was wondering how this worked out for you? Was it difficult to get back your $500 deposit? I get my MME this Wednesday. I’m also dreading the call to the dealer where I placed my original order.

I took the chickens way out and texted him as that is the way we communicated the past 6 months. I’m sure he was really mad at me but he texted back that he would send my $500 deposit back this week. I love my new car and have been busy setting everything up for Susan and me. It goes in Thursday for Xpel ā€œbraā€ and mounting the body side moldings. When I get it back I’ll coat Active-X upholstery and apply the ceramic-wax hybrid. Thank you for asking and I hope you get your car soon as well.
