Is the frunk a safe place to store valuables?

The console "safes" only really offer security for very brief periods (running into the convenience store real quick, for example). If a thief even has a screwdriver he'll make short work of it, likely busting up your car in the process.

That said, I do have one in my truck because there are circumstances in which I need "secure" storage, though I keep it empty/unlocked aside from that.

True, but as previously written in this thread, smash and grabs are in it for the quick score. The extra few seconds that it takes to open the driver’s door, then pull the release 2x, then open the frunk lid are typically not something a smash and grabber wants to spend. Obviously there are some outliers, but the majority of the smashed window thieves are not going to do this. 🤷‍♂️🐩
I the thief is not opening the door, he's not going to get to lots of places in the car, not just frunk.

It's really just "Security by obscurity" Most common smash-n-grab types might not think of the frunk since it's not a Tesla. I keep stuff in there because these cars are still quite uncommon in my area, and most still see it as an ICE. But again, as @Dear_OP said: Don't store anything of value in your car.
You mean like that $500 mobile charger? That's probably staying there once I get the home charger installed.
