Is there a difference between Chargepoint home flex NEMA 6-50 and NEMA 14-50 if you are doing a hardwired install?

I have had my Mache for about 2 weeks now and I am charging using the 120. Luckily I don't drive much right now. But I decided waiting for the Ford Connected Charge may take too long so I started looking at the Chargepoint home Flex. I want to get as much charge as possible so I was looking at hardwired. Is there a difference between Chargepoint home flex NEMA 6-50 and NEMA 14-50 if you are doing a hardwired install? I was initially planning on purchasing the NEMA 14-50 but they are sold out everywhere I look. Amazon actually has the NEMA 6-50 so I was wondering if there is a difference when doing the hardwired install? Or does anyone know of a place to get the NEMA 14-50 one?

No. The plug will be removed, so is irrelevant.

Just to confirm, I also bought the 6-50 plug version, and hardwired it with a 60amp breaker. Works great!

Thanks, tried to order this morning from Amazon and the Nema 6-50 is now out of stock too. I can't seem to find the Chargepoint in stock anywhere now that I finally decided to move on from the Ford Connected Charger.

My plug is still sitting on the kitchen island. I did think it would be a nice weapon. I think you could probably knock someone out with that thing. haha

Got one of each at Home Depot a couple months ago. Great EVSE, very solid and the app works great - shows the charging rate. If it applies, military discount of 10%.

I ordered my Chargepoint Home Flex from Charge Point Aug 20, it shipped on Sept 9, I received it on Sept 20 and installed it on Sept 23. I used the hardwire install with a 60 amp breaker. This should just about be the max for the internal MME charger. I see no point to go beyond the 60 amp breaker size.
