Ford Mustang Mach-E Spotted: design mockup for next-gen Mach-E? 1675351774601

Ford is in the midst of a major transformation as it aims to quickly expand its all-electric vehicle lineup, which already contains a trio of models – the Ford E-Transit, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The automaker will launch a grand total of seven new EVs in Europe by 2026, in fact, though it’s also working on its second-generation models, which will ride on new, dedicated platforms. It’s unclear what sort of future vehicle we may be looking at here – which was recently spotted by Ford Authority outside of a Blue Oval facility in Dearborn – but it could potentially be some sort of design mockup for the next-generation Mustang Mach-E.
It’s difficult to tell what, exactly, resides underneath that heavy wrap, but it certainly looks like some sort of mockup or concept. There are no side mirrors present, and it’s wearing very thin tires, which could be clues that it isn’t any kind of road-worthy model, however. Up top, the roofline looks quite a bit like the one present on the Kia EV6, while the overall profile is very crossover-like, with a steeply sloping rear hatch area and a relatively flat, vertical rear end.

There are several possibilities as to what we might be looking at here, starting with the aforementioned next-gen Mustang Mach-E, which is due to arrive in 2026, as Ford Authorityreported last month. Additionally, it could be the rumored Mach-E “coupe” model listed on a recent future product roadmap. Either way, the next-gen Mach-E is reportedly slated to enter production at the Cuauatitlan Assembly plant in Mexico on July 1st, 2026.

Finally, this heavy cover could be concealing an upcoming Lincoln EV model. The luxury brand is set to launch four new all-electric vehicles by 2026 – despite not having on in its current lineup – each of which will ride on FoMoCo’s dedicated EV platforms.

I mean maybe they are trying to harken back to a 1970 Mach-1 Fastback, but that's a big maybe.

If I could re-shape the Mach-E, I would only make it slightly squatter and wider, with a bit of additional fender flare for a more muscular look. But I'd be okay if they kept the styling the same and just improved efficiency and charging speed. Oh and added V2H.

Looks like a big 2nd gen Prius to me. Looks aerodynamic, but not sure how you could call a car with a front end like that a Mustang.

It looks like a fastback coupe to me. Yet very Prius-like. Clearly this would be more aerodynamic and efficient than our current body. But I think Ford would have blood on their hands if they call it a Mustang with that low hood shape.

It’s too tall to be a coupe or sedan. Looks more like a crossover SUV to me. 🤷‍♂️🐩
