Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, but PCMag published the 2023 sales figures registrations for January in the US of A:

Tesla Model Y - 28,833 new registrations
Tesla Model 3 - 17, 526
Chevrolet Bolt EUV - 4,928
Volkswagen ID.4 - 4,049
Mustang Mach-E - 3,286
F-150 Lightning - 2,918

EV6 and Ioniq 5 were not on the list of Top Sellers…

I can't find it at the minute, but I read there was no MME production for Jan and most of Feb. You have to have cars to sell cars... We will see if inventories and sales recover in a few months.

The US tax law is crushing Hyundai and Kia EVs.

Those figures above are registrations, which lag sales slightly, which can lag production by quite a bit. The lack of recent production will likely show up in April/May registrations.

i got the impression though that there were a boatload of MME orders made in late 2022 which were left unsold due to the change in the federal tax credit. maybe there are enough MMEs sitting around on dealer lots that the lull in production is not going to matter? in the end the federal tax credit got sorted out but there are still a lot of cars sitting on lots.

looking at ford.com i see 99 vehicles in norcal within 30 miles of my location. when i was taking delivery in late december there were only 5-10 vehicles available in the vicinity. and it wasn't clear if any of those were already spoken for.

Ford Store Morgan Hill shows 6 MME's in stock, 3 are GT's.
