The updates keep rolling and BC is active! Got the POPB update and 3.5.2 is scheduled to update next. I tried BC on I-20 today and it worked as advertised, which is kinda scary, at first! You must pay attention to its "decisions." BC was confronted with making a moderate turn to the left to continue staying on the interstate and a slight turn to the right to take the exit ramp. It chose to take the ramp (wrong decision)! But a slight adjustment on my part corrected it. Glad they are giving us a trial period first!

Interesting that your car chose the exit. I have gone through a few of those situations and the car has always chosen to stay on the freeway. 🤷‍♂️

With it being so new to me, I probably jumped in too soon - but it sure aimed itself in the direction of the exit!

Off ramps missing the dotted line, concrete barriers too close to the road, shadows under bridges...all have given me odd hiccups. I'd assume that's why it complains if you don't watch the road. As a programmer (which training AI isn't really programming anymore to me) I'd never honestly trust a self driving car with my life, but still nice to relax a bit.

UPDATE:
As many have noted, Ford is finally pushing OTA updates to the stuck vehicles. Several folks on this forum who were in the list I sent to Ford have been updated and now have HFBC(!), though not all yet. It seems to be a matter of time.

On a personal note, I ended up going the dealer install route to get HFBC. Appointment was last week. And of course, the install was not done properly or there is an issue with one of the modules. They gave me the car back without verifying HFBC was working.

The dealer's position is they updated the modules per Ford's instructions and the issue is a bad module of some sort. As a result, i need to schedule a new appointment, which isnt available until late December.

I spent most of today "negotiating" with Ford Customer Service, the in-Car Connected Sevices team and the OTA team, as well as my dealer. No progress and I have pretty much run out of options.

So while the frustration continues for me, I hope most of you are able to get the OTA updates in the near future. And a continued "Thank You" for the forum members who have been helping me push this issue forward.

Jay
Do you mind me asking which dealership you went to? Curious if it was Tasca. They don't seem to have a handle on the software updates yet. My 21 appears to be "stuck" with 2.7 as well. Ran my vin and I need a heap of updates. Trying to find a competent dealer to use.

Glad some Job 1’s are starting to get some updates. I am still stuck on 2.7.4 since June.

Good news I got a call yesterday from some one at Ford Customer Care. I think she said she was from battery management? about Blue Cruise.

I then got a call today from my local dealership, and have an appointment on the 12th to install Blue Cruise at Fords expense.

There might be some hope for me after all.

Just curious--was that a call out of the blue (so to speak) or did you already have an open case?

My updates came fast and furiously and I'm up to 3.5.2 (Job 1). BC hands free showed up as soon as I engaged cruise control on an interstate. Ford called me (yesterday) and verified the car should be BC enabled. I checked my Ford account and the install day was November 27, so we seem to be getting a full year trial period free.

No, it was out of the blue.

I brought my car in October to get available updates, I specifically mentioned Blue Cruise.

Once done I was told told I got all that were available. I got 21P22. Afterwards, from posts on here, I learned that the Blue Cruise update has expired (21G01), so it wouldn’t have shown in their system.

Afterwards I got a direct message here from a member asking for my VIN gathering a list of people in my situation.

A month or so later is when I was contacted by Ford.

I don’t know if it was from me mentioning Blue Cruise initially to my dealer, and they escalated, or from me submitting my VIN here.

If it was from my DM submission here, or someone from Ford here monitoring, Thank you!

Yes, that is the dealer. I went with them instead of my regular dealer (Gengras) specifically because they said they were familiar with 21G01 and would have no issue doing the install. Gengras was honest about being less experienced with the software updates. Boy, do I regret that decision now.

So it is immensely frustrating that they didn't do it correctly, and show no interest in "making it right". They did a five mile drive after the software update. Per my read of 21G01, that should be to verify HFBC is working, which it never did. I can't even get them to tell me what the point of that drive was...

The only recourse they offered was to sign me up for another appointment in 4 weeks like I had a new issue. I have tried escalating at Ford, with the dealer service department and with the GM. None of the above have shown any motivation to do anything other than come back in four weeks and check it out at that point. I am still not even sure if Ford will cover the cost of the next visit.

The worst part is that there are really good people working very hard to make things right. Some are members on this forum. But their efforts at times go to waste due to the ineptitude of Ford Corporate and some* dealers.

First world problems, I understand. But I find myself rehashing this poor experience everytime someone asks me about the "electric mustang". I have gone from the biggest advocate for this car to someone who spends most discussions focused on the downsides. It isn't even purposeful. I really like the car, but the dealer/Ford experience is just really off-putting.

*I am sure there are good dealers when it comes to service; I just haven't found one yet.

Cool. My situation is not dissimilar; maybe I'll get a call! :)

Try Monaco in Glastonbury. They sell/deal with more of the higher end Ford vehicles and EV's from what I've heard. I had a horrible experience at Gengras. Took 6+ weeks for the HVBJB to be replaced last winter. I think I was their second one ever. I know it's a learning curve, I've spoken to the folks at Tasca, and they just don't seem to understand the update process. More of a computer science type degree than a technical mechanical skill.

Best of luck!
