Follow up odd thing.

Using PAAK. Walked up to car, unlocked and opened door.

Car immediately starts beeping at me (the 3 note chime through speakers).

Get in car, close door, chiming stops. Open door, chime starts.

Is that normal? It reminds be of the sound an ICE makes when you leave the keys in the ignition and you open the door.

But the car was off. I hadn’t started it yet. Just walked up and unlocked and opened it.
The chime is letting you know you forgot to turn off the headlights.

But of course you didn't forget... You're experiencing the bug where they switch from Auto to lost-comms-failsafe (stuck On).

As you said in later posts, this is fixed by switching the headlight control back to Auto.

This happened to me once, too.

I definitely put it in park and hit the stop button.
Unrelated but quick tip. Just turn off the car and it will go into park automatically. Saves you a step.

I know it’s a totally different driveline, but after reading what happened to Anton Yelchin at the hands of his Jeep Grand Cherokee, I’d never in a million years recommend that, or do it myself. Gives me the creeps.

Been doing it with Audi for ten years... It's not something new and it's an actual feature. Never had an issue.

Ford calls it "automatic return to park" and it's in the owners manual.

But you are entitled to your opinion.

Funny you mention Audi, since that whole unintended acceleration fiasco in the ‘80s is what prompted the transmission/brake interlock we have to this day. Even though that really wasn’t due to an Audi defect per se.

I’m sure you’ll never have an issue, but, one failed mechanism/solenoid and things get real fast in a tight space like a garage.

Again, first night home. Electrician comes on Tues to install 240v.

I don’t have any high amp 120v plugs, is that ok to plug into a 15 amp 120? Car is at 99% so I was gonna leave it unplugged.
And oh yeah, almost forgot, stop posting about lights and get your Dragy on already! ??
