so are you telling me to just RTFM? lol i thought the manual was just supplied for people who could read. i really thought i read the manual cover to cover but those pages must have been stuck together. lol
The problem with manuals is that it's like every page is filled with all different words.

My wife's CX5 GT once read a State Hwy 65 sign, which is Ocean Blvd here in North Myrtle Beach, as a speed limit sign and accelerated in a 30 mph zone.
I have logged nearly 3k miles already and have noted the following (and wonder if others have similar experience):
-lane centering has a clear bias to the R side of the lane.
-average to strong pull R when passing an intersection with a turn approach if not marked with dashed lines or when approaching off ramps on freeway.
-system "cancels" if intesection/ramp as noted above is too large or if there are multiple in a row.
-speed sign recognition is inconsistent and needs fine tuning with mapped speed limits. Really notice this on rural highways where no signage assumes 55 mph but last sign read may have been 45 mph or "45 mph ends".
-obviously, snowy roads or wet/reflective roads negatively impact lane recognition.

These issues are a big reason why the "Co-Pilot360 driver assist feature will be available on (only) 100,000 miles of highways in the US and Canada."
Not all roads are marked well enough to safely support the tech in the MME, yet.
I believe I read that lane centering has three settings, LEFT, CENTER and RIGHT. Let's say you want the car to stay in the center of the lane but is driving on the right. Steer the car to the center and forcibly hold the steering wheel for about 5 sec. After about 5 sec it will stop trying to go to the right and settle on the center of the lane. Same procedure for all three positions.

The reading of exit speed limit or truck speed limit signs and throttling down the speed incorrectly is really my only concern about adaptive cruise control. Otherwise it's awesome. But at least now I know how the system works and can plan ahead, knowing that if I see a truck limit sign I need to press the gas to keep the car at its current speed, and then re-engage the cruise control. Kinda annoying, but overall no big deal since it comes up infrequently most of the time.

Well you can use adaptive cruise with no issues. If the sign reading causes issues you can turn off intelligent cruise control (sorry if I get the names mixed up).

I personally am considering taking the intelligent cruise off. It hasn't been much of an issue, but I drive mostly on the highway and can stay at 70 almost the entire time.

Agree. I think Adaptive Cruise is good for me also. It is more important for me to pace the traffic around me vs slowing down or speeding up abruptly.

Most likely those digits got stuck together so you did not see that information. Although being able to search an electronic manual is nice, I actually think a physical manual for a car like this would be as nice as.... let's see.... as nice as having a second key fob.

given that there have already been mistakes pointed out in the manual and missing stuff in the manual, if they update it even once, then you'd be stuck with dead trees that are out of date. at least you could sell the second fob on eBay ;)

And it occasionally reads the speed limit signs on the frontage roads when driving on the freeway. I was going 70 and the speed all of a sudden reduced to 50.
This has happened a couple times to me. My bigger annoyance is that the car only starts adjusting to a lower speed limit after passing the sign. That’s now how it works, Ford.

I have a couple spots near me that cause me to cancel IC before I get to the sign. When I'm still at 70 when I hit the 45 sign, it fells like I'm flying into slower traffic, and there's a place when the limit goes from 35 to 55 just as the highway enters a sharp curve with less than optimal banking. The first time I passed that 55 sign, I thought I was going to launch into space off that curve. The car actually handled the curve nicely, but damned, it was unsettling the first time!

I don't use ICC for a different but related issue: speed traps. On the highway I drive 5 to 10 mph over the speed limit, but off the highway some towns I go through view speeding tickets as a necessary revenue stream. They set up speed traps in spots right where the speed limit dips and stop anyone going more than 1 or 2 mph over the new limit just after they pass the sign.

This is a true story:
There's a NJ shore town called "harvey cedars" on a very long thin island with essentially one long main road that runs the whole length. The speed limit ALMOST everywhere is 35, but smack in the middle of that town it drops to 30 for apparently no reason. I was driving through at 4:30 in the morning and when I got to that point I didn't slow down. Sure enough right past the sign a cop was waiting literally behind the bushes. Fortunately for me the only other car on the road was going just a little faster than me - the cop pulled him over instead of me.

I think in Illinois there is a law requiring speed traps be a minimum distance from limit change signs. I know I was told that years ago, but I can't verify - it may be an urban legend.
