Mustang Mach-E wins Large Car of the Year award: WWCOTY

Ford Mustang Mach-E Large Car of the Year winner, named by Women's World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) 1644880395676

  • Mustang Mach-E adds one more recognition to its list by being recognized with the Large Car of the Year award by the WWCOTY
Mexico City, Mexico February 14, 2022.- The Women's World Car of the Year (WWCOTY), the only international award made up entirely of women journalists from the automotive industry, announced the winners of its six categories. These vehicles represent excellence in each of their segments, based on safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment and value for money.

This year the following categories were selected: Urban Model, Family SUV, Large Car, Large SUV, Performance Vehicle and 4x4, in which 65 models participated that were launched between January 1 and December 31, 2021.

Adding one more recognition to its list of awards, Mustang Mach-E took the award as Large Car of the Year. Again, the signature of the blue oval demonstrates that the disruptive thinking with which the first 100% electric vehicle of the brand produced in Mexico was designed, is the key to success in an industry where not only risky and "out of the box" proposals are needed, but concrete electrification plans such as the one published by the company, with more than $30 billion dollars earmarked for the electrification of its portfolio by 2025.

"This recognition also puts the name of Mexico very high, because it is Mexican hands that have given life to a vehicle as demanding as Mach-E. The Ford Cuautitlán team had to adapt to great technologies, taking the country's manufacturing levels and electrification to the next level," said Enrique Araiza, Director of Manufacturing at Ford de Mexico.

The winners of each of the six categories are selected to obtain the highest recognition of the WWCOTY: the Best Car of the Year. This award will be announced on March 8 as part of Women's Day and Mustang Mach-E is ready to win it.

Some of the recognitions that the first vehicle of the 100% electric brand produced in Mexico has taken are:
"We are proud to see that the work we do in Cuautitlán has allowed the company to be a leader in this new era of electrification that is transforming mobility around the world. We are excited to see the results of the Best Vehicle of the Year, but we are confident in the quality, design, technology and efficiency that put Mach-E at the top," added Marcos Madrid, Ford Cuautitlán Plant Manager.

“Este reconocimiento también pone muy en alto el nombre de México, pues son manos mexicanas las que le han dado vida a un vehículo tan exigente como Mach-E.
