I was reading through thr forum this morning, and it occurred to me that literally nothing discussed in the forum has ever gone wrong with my Mach e. Same with all the YouTubers. I have a theory about this. I made very few changes from the way the car was delivered. I especially wonder about the YouTubers. I think they fiddle around with and are constantly changing everything in the car. I wonder if this leads to problems? The software in these cars is crazy complex. Probably works best with a simple setup?

i would also like to note I live at 9k feet in the Colorado Rockies. I put on snow tires in the winter. This car is amazing in snow. In some situations better than my wrangler. I wonder why ford does not promote this more. I understand that they used a lot of engineering time on the topic.

Same for me, zero issues or dealer visits in 2 years.

I have made zero hardware changes and only have a Premium RWD. However, I have changed over a dozen Forscan settings and run FDRS software updates regularly.

I think your 2023 model year is what's helping you the most. The older (and sometimes out of warranty) model years seem to have the most issues simply because the dealer doesn't know how to fix them. For example, your car probably had the HVBJB power limit change from the factory so your contactors were never overstressed to the point of melting.

Interesting thoughts but you really can't customize options in the Mach E compared to other EV like Tesla or Rivian.
I wish I didn't have the failures I've experienced like our front drive unit and other small parts. I'm not including the HVJB failures and replacements since mine never failed but we had the recall done.
My main issues remain with very inconsistent PaaK and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity issues. I'm a set-it-and-forget-it kind of person and those features just don't work as advertised.
We don't even change the drive modes 🤷‍♂️

Love to hear that you're enjoying the Mach-E! Thanks for sharing.

Mine's been relatively trouble free, but in 3 years I did have to take it in for the HVBJB issue, the low voltage battery has needed to be replaced once, and the tires have been replaced once, but otherwise trouble free.

Great to hear seeing you live in the PHX valley too. We have put 6k miles on our 2024 Premium RWD EXT battery in five months and have already done three long distance trips with zero issues (knock on wood...lol). But seriously I was bragging to my ICE friend the other day about how happy we are and how simple this car really is. I love being able to re-fuel (charge) in my garage while doing daily chores, etc... But don't get me wrong I still love ICE cars...our other car is a limited edition 2024 Mustang Dark Horse with manual transmission!!!

Same here but we live south of you at @ 7K feet in COS. We experienced departure time problems during the first year living in very rural Illinois. Either Ford improved the network system settings or our rural WiFi strength created problems. Either way departure times are stable w/in a larger city. Replaced tires at 30k.

Only a year and a half in for my '23.0 Premium AWD. Basically zero issues and zero dealer visits. One time (over a year ago), I had the "Drive Mode Not Available" message, which only showed up when I was about a block from home (and the car was still driving just fine). Never appeared again. I've done some mods, including adding a physical rear lift switch, 12v battery access ports, enabled power monitor display, added rear lit pony, Suma mirrors, some Shelby style stripes, and the electric pony emblems on the sides. I'm not one of the people that is too worried about whether OTA updates coming "soon" have arrived yet (although I do have BC 1.3 now), and I don't care that the speedometer isn't in the middle... And since I own the car, I don't care about resale value, since I am planning on keeping it for as long as it drives well!

Coming up on 40,000 miles. The only warranty issue was a pretty well-known problem with a faulty headlight knob that would turn on my car's headlights at random times while it was sitting in my driveway. The dealer also refused to fix my charge port door that is visibly out of alignment (not centered when closed). And of course, I need to bring the car in for the HVBJB recall, and leave it at the dealership for some unpredictable amount of time. Otherwise mechanically the car has been reliable.

However there are a multitude of software related issues where Ford has fallen short. Here are some that I fight with on a daily basis:
  • PaaK is clunky and most often leaves me standing next to the door for way too long, pressing the button and fumbling with my phone, sometimes in traffic
  • Even after entering with PaaK, the car often doesn't select my profile
  • After all of that is figured out, CarPlay is hit or miss. Sometimes it'll connect (taking way longer than other cars I've used with wireless Carplay), but it almost always selects my wife's phone if she's with me in the passenger seat, and sometimes just never connects and requires me to use "phone list".
  • The car often thinks I'm on a route, and shows the checkered flag and siatance remaining in the IPC even when there is no route selected in the Nav or in Carplay
  • Sometimes I have no volume through Carplay and can only resolve it by reconnecting
  • GPS via Carplay sometimes gets crazy inaccurate until I reset the system (skip forward and volume down trick)
  • The climate controls are maddeningly unintuitive
Btw, you're probably thinking "you have a problem with your phone", but this behavior has happened with both an iPhone 13 Pro and now with a different iPhone 16 Pro.
