We stopped in at the Lucid showroom in Milbrae CA on our way up to SF to watch the SailGP races this weekend. I had been wondering about the Lucid ever since they announced the Dream Edition (which they've started delivering to customers now). Here are my impressions:
The primary downside for us though was the size of the Lucid. It's a full 10" longer than our Model Y and way too big for both our garage and just the two of us. Lucid calls it a mid-sized car but it looks much bigger on the outside to us than that.
- It's a stunning design both the interior as well as the exterior
- The build quality is top drawer as is the underlying tech.
- 800v system will certainly make for short DCFC charging although with real world ranges of 4-500 mi (verified by Inside EV) they won't need to do that too much when on the road.
- The "Pure" base model won't be out until later this year priced in the mid-70s
