I think you mean the Kia Imagine, not Image.They have 800V architecture, so why aren't they using for the production Mach-E? That is a game-changer for electric vehicles. That is why I'm going to wait on the Kia Image as it will have 800V architecture and Rimac technology. They could have been ahead of everyone if they bought 800V architecture to the market at an affordable price.
As I understand it, 800v is not quite ready at an affordable price point. It's probably two maybe three years away from being at nearly the same price point is where 350-400 volt technology is today.
There's nothing wrong with 400 volt technology and as Tesla and Audi have shown, the performance and recharging speeds can rival the best 800 volt system available.
